Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres is a brand new resort which just opened north of Cancun. It recently changed its name from Majestic Elegance Playa Mujeres to Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres. I recently posted a video of a swim-up room; here’s a video of the public spaces in order to give everyone a look at its general architecture and design.
If you are familiar with the Majestic brand or have stayed at their all-inclusive resorts in the DR (Dominican Republic), you know that this name is synonymous with attentiveness to customer needs (an average of 1.5 staff members p/room), 5-star resort amenities, exclusive areas for adults with an upgrade, and the pinnacle of guest vacation requests–not having to make dinner reservations at a la carte restaurants.

For those readers curious about the brand new adults-only Barcelo resort, a new drone video has been posted on YouTube. Just thought I’d post it here in case you don’t visit YouTube with any regularity. This resort is actually ahead of its construction schedule and will be opening on time this December 2019.
FYI: Atelier no longer allowing Estudio guests to access the property for free. You will now have to pay extra to do so.

The Haven Riviera Cancun is a resort that has been on my radar for quite some time; however, the price point (when I’ve checked) resulted in a “no bueno” vote when it came to booking. Now Emerald Cancun used to be called Grand Oasis Sens–it is located on the east side of the “7” in the Hotel Zone. While some renovations were made, the resort itself looks very similar with cosmetic changes and re-naming of public spaces. The resort opened with its re-branded name in June 2019 and is fully operational at this point.
Here’s a new map of the Barceló Maya Grand Resort with the addition of the new adults-only section (Barceló Maya Riviera) which is scheduled to open Dec. 2019. 850 rooms, four pools, five restaurants, five bars, a new convention center, plus access to the rest of the entire resort. I’m going late Feb. 2020 and staying in a swim-up suite–can’t wait to see it and the rest of this great resort. I have my favorite hangouts which I discovered on my trip here July 2018, and looking forward to adding more favorites to my list!
The plan is still on for the new adults-only section of the Barcelo Maya Grand resort to open either this Dec. 2019 or Jan. 2020. Those who visit the wonderfully informative site of Unofficial Barcelo Maya take note–there is a newer entry dated Dec. 2018 by Phil in Ottawa (look in the discussion section) that has recent pics of what the construction looks like. If you haven’t yet registered to post/respond in the discussion section, it is worthwhile to do so since you can then ask questions and get info from vacationers who have spent multiple trips going to this resort and are quite knowledgeable.
