I am taking my sister to Cancun for her birthday in early December. She loves a luxury experience. I was thinking of booking Live Aqua club room but wanted to get your opinion on what you think is the most luxurious (and best food) adults only is in Cancun. We could go somewhere else in Mexico if you think another place is really exceptional. Thank you!!!
I’ve been to Live Aqua twice, so that’s a clear indication that I love that resort. However, their food quality has slipped a bit. I just stayed at a fairly new adults-only resort in Playa Mujeres in August (the resort allows age 16+), and the food is excellent there. Not the best beach, but it definitely has a 5 star ambiance and service there. Check out Atelier Playa Mujeres; I just finished a resort review with a lot of pics in September, there is also a swimup suite video in this blog. I would highly recommend that resort as well.

I am so overwhelmed with choices and in a bit of a rush and cant seem to get through the hundreds of options.
I am wanting to gift a shorter 5 night honeymoon for my niece for a mini-moon, in october, and my son just came back last week from the new Barcelo Riviera Maya – and learned a few things, yes about the construction, that there are 2 levels of all inclusive didnt know about which meant that on arrival day at 11pm due to the 3hour ride from cancun- they only had one option to get food and that was to go take two buses to another property to the sports bar (they had been traveling since 5am) and the food there he said was horrific. All other outlets he tried and was great.
So for my niece – wanting the following
a) not to have to deal with the traffic too much – as they will be coming from California and have to change planes already and leaving at 5am
b) beautiful beach without the seaweed
c) great high quality food and premium wines included
d) air conditioning and ocean view – either a swim up, or private plunge pool would be nice but not necessary
e) not feel too crowded – and i don’t have any idea of the areas at all
f) adults only preferred but not mandatory
g) to be able to keep under 2500.00 for the 5 nights.
