An Easy Way to Relive Those Mexican Resort Memories…

Whenever I’m missing Mexico and my next resort vacation, I indulge a bit and make my favorite Tex-Mex dish.  If you’ve ever had breakfast at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun or the Riviera Maya, you know about the ever popular Chilaquiles Rojos/Verdes (red or green sauce) and how quickly it disappears (along with the bacon, lol).  While this dish can be a bit messy, it is totally worth the prep and the calories and can be enjoyed as a breakfast or dinner meal.

Seafront Corner Suite at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso

It’s been a crazy week at work, but I’m not forgetting to make time for my Friday resort suite highlight.  Today I’m taking a look at the Seafront Corner Suite at the luxurious, adults-only Iberostar Grand Paraiso.  This resort is part of Iberostar’s “Grand” collection–five-star resorts with the highest level of amenities and service.  This particular all-inclusive is located north of Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya and is part of a mega-resort (Iberostar Playa Paraiso) which consists of four additional resorts (Paraiso del Mar, Paraiso Beach, Paraiso Lindo, and Paraiso Maya).  Guests of the Grand Paraiso have full access to the entire resort complex; those staying three or four nights also get a free round of golf at the adjoining golf course, while those staying five nights or more get two free rounds of golf plus complimentary snacks and drinks while playing.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya Emerald Jr. Suite Review

Another Friday and another suite review….this time I’m taking a closer look at the Emerald Jr. Suite at the beautiful Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya.  This is an adults-only resort which is located north of Playa del Carmen–if you want to cab it to Playa at night for the clubs it will take approximately 15-25 min. depending on the traffic.

For Those Interested in the Rebranded Now Emerald Cancun…

Now Emerald Cancun used to be called Grand Oasis Sens–it is located on the east side of the “7” in the Hotel Zone.  While some renovations were made, the resort itself looks very similar with cosmetic changes and re-naming of public spaces.  The resort opened with its re-branded name in June 2019 and is fully operational at this point.

Oceanfront Master Suite at Hyatt Ziva Cancun

It’s Friday and time for another suite review!  This time I’m highlighting the family-friendly Hyatt Ziva Cancun located in the Punta Cancun area of the Hotel Zone.  Punta Cancun is unique in that it is the very northeastern tip of the Yucatan peninsula; given the resort’s location on the end of this “tip”, Hyatt Ziva is surrounded on three sides by the beautiful Caribbean Sea.  The resort has two swimmable beaches (the calm west beach and the more potentially dangerous east beach with its rip tides and dangerous currents), three infinity pools, eight restaurants, six bars, an on-site dolphin interaction program, and an on-site microbrewery which produces three home beers.  Hyatt Ziva Cancun has a great location since it is a 5-10 minute walk to all Cancun’s famous clubs as well as to a smaller mall (Plaza Caracol).

Secrets The Vine PC Jr. Suite Room Category Review

Hola; it’s Friday and time for another room category review!  I’m highlighting the Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean View at Secrets the Vine located in Cancun’s Hotel Zone.  Secrets the Vine is a great adults-only resort situated between two other popular and well regarded all-inclusives, Hard Rock Hotel Cancun and Sandos Cancun Lifestyle Resort, all facing the beautiful Caribbean Sea.  This area of the Hotel Zone is representative of the Cancun that most people see in media–turquoise sea, miles of white sandy beach, and breathtaking views from chic resorts and beachfront pools.

New Liquor Laws Go Into Effect at Resorts

While the new Quintana Roo liquor laws were supposed to go into effect February 10, 2019 (limiting the hours during which liquor can be sold/served), it has not been until July 2, 2019 that tourists have experienced the actualities of liquor restrictions at Cancun and Riviera Maya resorts.
