Everyone wants to get the most out of their vacation dollar/peso/euro which has resulted in resorts starting to offer more than a basic all-inclusive plan in order to stay ahead in the booking game in the all-inclusive market. Hotels Xcaret began this in earnest followed by UNICO properties (UNICO’s has died out quite a bit, however), now it looks like Lomas Hospitality has started one of their own

How To Save A Vacation When You Want A Water Park Experience And Your Resort Doesn’t Have One…
Not everyone who books an all-inclusive resort wants nothing more to do on vacation than sit in the sun and drink, sleep and eat…Of course there ARE some vacationers that want that type of experience but some individuals want more of an adventure or some additional fun to add.
The Water Park You Might Have Forgotten About???
Since Nickelodeon Hotels and Resorts Riviera Maya opened in 2021, I haven’t heard or read much about its adjoining water park, Aqua Nick. Aqua Nick is a Nickelodeon-themed water park for both children and adults and it’s located right on the resort’s property (actually you can see the back end of the park when driving by from the main highway). Many tourists think that you can only access the park if you are a guest staying at the resort, but that is not true. Even if you are staying at another resort destination you can always purchase a Day Pass to the water park and have a marvelous time! Of course, if you are staying at the resort you have free unlimited access to the water park, plus if you are staying at the adjacent property of Generations Riviera Maya you also get free access.
Best Lazy River in Cancun?
I’ve now stayed at enough resorts with lazy rivers to know when I come across a good one–and when I come across one which is advertised as a lazy river when it’s not really one at all. And the best one I’ve experienced is (drum roll) the Blue Lagoon Grotto Bar and lazy river at Planet Hollywood Cancun.
Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres Water Park…
The brand new Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres is an all-suites luxury family-friendly resort located right next to Riu Latino in the Costa Mujeres area north of downtown Cancun. It has an adults-only section as well as amenities like its own water park. Take a look at the very short video below about what this amenity looks like…I’m pretty sure Majestic produced this video.
Ventura Park Closed Indefinitely
Ventura Park Cancun is, or was, a water park located in the southern part of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. From what I could discover, no definite reason has been given for its closure, but the park has been in existence for many years so it might have closed for renovations.
Want Some Ideas For Family Resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya?
Here’s a video done by Light Baggage which highlights some of the more popular family resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. There are certainly a lot more than this video listing, but it’s a start for those looking for all-inclusive resort ideas.
A Look at Completed Waterslides at Royalton Splash…
The last post I did on Royalton Splash Riviera Riviera Cancun showed that the waterslides were not completed. However, since then a majority of these slide are now fully functional and look like a lot of fun for resort guests! I think there is only one green and white one which doesn’t look put together yet, but the rest are going strong.
