Atelier Master Suite Review

FYI:  Atelier no longer allowing Estudio guests to access the property for free.  You will now have to pay extra to do so.

Atelier Playa Mujeres is one of the newest all-inclusive resorts in the Cancun area which opened its doors only several months ago.  It is adults-only (age 16+) with an adjacent family-friendly resort, Estudio Playa Mujeres, and a nearby golf course for those who enjoy the sport while on vacation.  In fact, a portion of the golf course can be easily seen from many Atelier PM suites, particularly on the south side of the resort.

Shared amenities is probably the biggest perk at this resort.  Estudio guests age 16+ can go next door to Atelier and eat, drink, and swim in their pools, while all Atelier guests have access to 24 restaurants and bars within the entire complex along with pool access.  The resort also claims to have an Art and Experience Program which emphasizes creativity–this is probably more easily translated into “doing” over at the Estudio where children’s activities are tailored with specific art projects and exposure to the culinary process from harvesting to cooking and tasting.  Contemporary Mexican art dons the walls in both resorts, and art exhibitions are common.

If you are planning an event for a smaller group of individuals or just want more space to move around in a luxury-filled environment, consider the Master Suite at the Atelier.  Labeled on the website as the INSPIRA Master Suite Oceanfront, it is gorgeous with over 3,000 sq. feet of space (the terrace alone offers 1,948 sq. feet).  Suite amenities include the following:

  • separate bedroom with a king bed and a sofa bed in the living room.  The living room has two large semi-circular sofas making it easier for groups of individuals to socialize together.
  • dining area with four chairs and separate bar area
  • half-bath in addition to a full bathroom
  • the bedroom has an absurd amount of bathroom space which includes a soaking tub, large shower, and a double sink with lots of counter space.
  • the terrace alone is worth the price of the suite with two full loungers, a separate seating area, a circular day bed, and a large Jacuzzi area.
  • I wouldn’t say this suite was oceanfront, but there is an ocean view from the terrace.

The suite is labeled INSPIRA because this is the name of certain upgraded suite categories at this resort.  It’s similar to a Preferred Club or Premium room upgrade at other resorts in that upgraded rooms such as these offer more amenities.  Upgraded amenities in this INSPIRA suite include the following:

  • two complimentary rounds of golf at the nearby golf course for stays of 5+ days
  • private check-in/out
  • access to a special concierge
  • access to tablet use
  • free phone calls to USA, Canada, and Mexico
  • two admissions to the nearby Marina for some water activities fun

Wow.  I’d book this suite in a heartbeat.  Have a look at the video below and see what you think.  Would you stay here?
