Jr. Suite Oceanfront Video at the New Barcelo Maya Riviera

Interior resort videos are starting to come out at the new adults-only Barcelo Maya Riviera.  The resort just opened several days ago and it is slowly being filled by guests; right now it is pretty much a ghost town, but with Christmas and New Years coming up I’m sure the resort will be pretty much at capacity.  This new resort has 850 suites; 110 of them are swim-ups.  It will have the largest conference facilities in the Riviera Maya, so the resort has yet to experience what this will be like for the entire mega-resort (the entire resort property offers over 1.5 miles of beachfront with five additional resorts–the Barcelo Maya Beach which is right next door, the Maya Caribe, Maya Colonial, Maya Tropical, and the Palace which is at the far north end).

Take a look at this room video–what do you think?  Would you stay here?  I’m going to be here end of February in a swim-up suite, so my answer is definitely “yes”!

  1. Going to barchelo reviera adults only April 21st for 2 weeks .how is the snorkeling off the beach and is it sand bottom and sand beach …what kind of beer is at the resort as we r beer drinkers

    • Jordan: Best snorkeling is off the pier at the Colonial, there are so many fish there it is unbelievable. Not so much right off the beach at the adults-only section. The beach at the adults-only is mostly sand with a few rocky bumps when entering. Sorry, I’m not a beer drinker so I’m not sure what brands they serve. Don’t be shy about asking for your favorite and see if they have it on hand. I asked for Don Julio tequila even though I didn’t see it displayed with other liquors and they had it behind the bar; your beer may be in a fridge behind the bar somewhere.

    • Jordan: Look for an answer to your initial question in your other post; I forgot to add that the best snorkeling to see turtles is off the beach at the Palace (that’s the Barcelo at the other end of the complex)…TRS Coral feels like a large resort while the Barcelo feels like a manageable mega-resort. TRS Coral is more luxury oriented while the Barcelo adults-only is very modern in comparison to the rest of the mega-resort. I enjoyed both for what they had to offer; I enjoyed my loft suite more at TRS Coral, but enjoyed everything Barcelo had to offer around the entire resort more.
