Riu Playacar Walk-through Video

My Riu Playacar walk-through video has been up for awhile on YouTube, but I thought I’d post it since some readers may not visit that site with regularity.  Take a look–here’s what the new renovations look like.

New a la Carte Info at Riu Playacar

The newly renovated Riu Playacar has already made some changes since its reopening the fall of 2015.  Due to the popularity of its main buffet, The Palms, a la carte reservations are no longer required for either the steakhouse or Jade.  There is a new a la carte restaurant which shares space with the steakhouse and it serves Mexican cuisine.  Reservations are not required for this restaurant either.  You just need to show up.  Another reason to like this resort–no standing in another line just to put your name on a list with a set dinner time.  Just show up–can’t get more easy than that.

Finest Playa Mujeres Adds a New a la Carte

Finest Playa Mujeres recently added a new a la carte, Surf & Turf.  That makes a total of nine a la cartes for dining options.  Dress is “elegant”, but it doesn’t say specifically “adults-only” on the website.  There are gluten-free and healthy dining choices on the menu.  Click on the link if you want a closer look at the food offerings here.

Drone View of Grand Palladium Riviera Maya Complex

I love most drone resort videos.  They gave the best overall perspective and let me know ahead of time whether I think I can handle the size of a resort, its setting (too much jungle/too isolated), or whether I think I will enjoy the beach.  I came across a brief drone video of the Grand Palladium mega-resort complex in the Riviera Maya and thought you might enjoy it as well.  Have a look!

New Riviera Maya Ecopark to Open

Experiencias Xcaret has announced that a new ecopark will be opening in the Riviera Maya June 1, 2016 (it originally was supposed to open Oct. 2015).  The new park, Xenses, is approximately 99 acres with a cost of USD $20 million and will be “nature-focused” and thus similar to Xcaret and Xplor parks in its general environmental setting.  Xenses, however, will differ from these parks in that it will focus on the “feelings and experiences” one has with and about nature with an emphasis on sight, touch, and taste.

Iberostar Paraiso Resort Drone View

I found this on YouTube, I thought it gave a good idea of the vastness of the Iberostar Paraiso resort complex as well as a very good look at its pools.  The drone’s view focuses on the Paraiso Beach/Del Mar pool area, but flies over the south end of the resort for a brief time.  Take a look!
