Another New Hilton Resort To Open…

Found another new all-inclusive resort set to open by the end of the year (the resort is taking reservations starting from Nov. 7, 2021).  It is called Hilton Cancun and from the look of things on the Google map, it will be located by the Haven resort and north of Royalton Riviera Cancun.  Please correct me if I am wrong here, we all want to know more about this resort!

Travel and Leisure’s Top 25 Resorts in Mexico

This year’s World’s Best Awards Survey done by T&L brought some interesting results for Mexico.  Lots of Cabo places on the list (interesting because Cabo beaches are black-flagged in many areas (unswimmable–injury or death “imminent” if you enter the water), some for Puerto Vallarta (understandable, it’s a beautiful area surrounded by jungle and mountains), Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo (I’ve only been to the Ixtapa Club Med and that area was very nice), one for Acapulco (Acapulco is too crime-ridden to risk it in my opinion), and a few for Cancun/Riviera Maya.  Here are the ones listed for Cancun and the Riviera Maya; not all are all-inclusive. Catalonia Royal Tulum–A Resort Review

I stayed at this resort from July 7-11, 2021 as a solo traveler.  While I originally chose CRT for its beautiful Xpu-Ha beach location, the massive amount of incoming sargassum made it impossible to get into the ocean or fully appreciate the natural beauty of this beach area during my time here.  However, I did enjoy my stay; hopefully this review will help others to decide whether the beach is the draw at CRT, or whether a resort booking here is worth it regardless of the sargassum situation.

Major Transportation Issue…

The other day I read about a robbery which occurred on one of the public buses in Cancun’s Hotel Zone.  This is the first such robbery I know of occurring in this area of Mexico since I started vacationing here in 2012.  According to the news story, a single adult male boarded one of the public buses, brandished a gun, and demanded all cell phones. While the driver attempted to stop him, he was hit in the head with the weapon and the robber quickly went through the bus collecting all cell phones, then departed the bus.

Have A Look at the New Nickelodeon Resort

This Nickelodeon resort just opened Aug. 1, 2021; it is located next to Generations Riviera Maya north of Playa del Carmen.  While there still isn’t much out there as far as videos of the resort, I did find this one which highlights the water park and what appears to be a Swim-Up Oceanfront King Suite.

During my most recent Mexico trip, I stayed at both TRS Yucatan and Catalonia Royal Tulum.  While I have already posted my room video from TRS Yucatan, here’s the room video from the adults-only all-inclusive resort I stayed at when I first arrived in Mexico–CRT, as it is often called.
