Have A Look at the New Nickelodeon Resort

This Nickelodeon resort just opened Aug. 1, 2021; it is located next to Generations Riviera Maya north of Playa del Carmen.  While there still isn’t much out there as far as videos of the resort, I did find this one which highlights the water park and what appears to be a Swim-Up Oceanfront King Suite.

For those of you familiar with Nickelodeon characters along with the popularity of  “sliming”, some of this will look extremely familiar.  To be honest, the sliming on-site doesn’t look as messy as the sliming Nickelodeon is truly known for, but then this is a pool and it has to have easy clean up/incorporation into the water system.  FYI:  This water park is open to the public–a day pass must be purchased.  Guests of the resort have free access.  To the best of my knowledge, Aqua Nick (the water park) is located near the highway end of the resort; guests may want to take a resort shuttle from the lobby or their guest room building to the water park so as to avoid the lengthier trek with children in tow.

The swim-up room terrace looks similar to Generations Riviera Maya which also offers swim-up rooms on each guest room building floor–a great way for kids to entertain themselves.  Most resorts with swim-up room terraces like this either don’t allow kids under 13, or have the parents sign a waiver basically absolving the resort from any legal liability should anything happen while using the swim-up pool.  That ledge overlooking what looks like the main pool and beach area doesn’t look particularly safe for little ones–I would imagine a good amount of parental supervision is required while small children are using the swim-up pool.  (Ha ha, I guess I will never get rid of my “what if” scanning scenarios I used to do when my own kids were small).

It looks like a lot of fun if your family is into Nickelodeon!  I continue to hear about high prices though, that may be the biggest hurdle for many families.

Take a look below and check out the video.  It’s in Spanish, but you don’t have to be fluent in that language to see what’s happening in the water park and to see the room amenities.  What do you think?  Would you stay at this new resort?
