A beachy introduction to the resort outside the lobby
As part of my latest solo trip to the Riviera Maya I stayed at Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen. This Wyndham is an adults-only resort with a convenient location to 5th Avenue, PDC’s clubs, and famous Mamita’s Beach Club. It also has an affordable price point for those looking for a very good all-inclusive at a reasonable price.

Most vacationers who visit the Cancun/Riviera Maya areas of Mexico already know about VISITAX, or departure tax which became law in 2021. This requires all visitors ages 4+ who stay in this area of Mexico up to 180 days to pay their departure tax prior to leaving the country to return home or go to their next travel destination.

The brand new Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres is still scheduled to officially open Feb. 1, 2024. However, not all of the resort amenities will be available until after its opening. In case you are not aware, I traveled to the Riviera Maya Dec. 2023 on a solo trip and stayed at 3 resorts–Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen, Secrets Tulum Resort and Beach Club, and Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya (the old Secrets Capri).
Christine Turner does it again! She is a Canadian travel agent and makes very informative videos on YouTube about all-inclusive resorts (among other travel opportunities). She has recently posted a video about the brand new Hyatt Vivid Grand Island resort which will be opening soon in the Cancun area…I did a short post on Dec. 29 with an outline of what I knew about this new resort, but Christine can fill in some of the blanks info-wise if you are interested in this new all-inclusive property.
