I have been wondering why I couldn’t easily access recent information on Azul Beach Resort Riviera Maya located in Puerto Morelos. Well, from what I can gather, this resort is being re-branded to the new Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun by Karisma.
For those of you who’ve heard about Maroma Beach (voted one of the world’s best beaches) but have not yet experienced it, here’s a video giving you an idea of it’s beauty. The resorts covered in the video are the Catalonia Playa Maroma (all-inclusive), Secrets Maroma (all-inclusive), and the Belmond Maroma (not all-inclusive).
For those of you who requested more info on resorts/suites amenable to families, here’s another very popular family-friendly resort located north of Playa del Carmen. It’s called Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa–anyone familiar with the Dreams name will know that these resorts are upscale properties geared towards families with younger children (the Explorer’s Club takes children as young as age 3). Unlike some other family-friendly resorts, Dreams properties typically do a very good job of entertaining their youngest guests. This particular resort offers a weekly beach camping adventure just for kids, big screen movies, separate kids theater for performances, sandcastle contests, rock climbing wall and splash pad at the Explorer’s Club, and the usual video games/table games. Here’s a big plus for parents–the Explorer’s Club is open until 10 p.m. and will make sure your kids have dinner thus ensuring that parents get some “couple time” while on vacation

For those of you who now look for my Friday suite review, mea culpa; sorry I’m late but work took precedence–who would have thought so many individuals needed documents at the same time?? Anyway, here’s a review for families out there who are searching for an upscale resort in the Riviera Maya not too far from Playa del Carmen. The Paradisus Playa del Carmen is a large property with two separate sections including adults-only (La Perla), and a family-friendly section (La Esmeralda). This review will focus on a Family Concierge One Bedroom Master Swim-Up Suite in the La Esmeralda section.
This resort is just about ready to reopen its doors after a complete renovation which was done in stages; it is slightly behind schedule, and when I confirm a reopening date I will post it. (FYI: I just got confirmation as of Oct. 19 that the resort has now reopened).
Thinking of going to an affordable all-inclusive resort in Mexico situated on one of Mexico’s best beaches? Look no further, Riu Palace Mexico may be the resort for you.
I believe the last drone video of Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya I posted was back in 2016, but I’m posting another just to remind everyone what a spectacular adults-only resort this really is–take a look at the video and tell me what you think.
FYI: Atelier no longer allowing Estudio guests to access the property for free. You will now have to pay extra to do so.
This video was taken prior to the building of the adults-only section (Barcelo Maya Riviera), but it does show the rest of this mega-resort. The Barcelo Maya Grand resort is actually five (and soon to be six) resorts-in-one comprised of the Barcelo Maya Beach, Caribe, Colonial, Tropical, and the Palace resorts.
