Has Anyone Heard of Sensira Resort and Spa?

Travel agents excluded, how many of you have heard of or read about the new all-inclusive resort Sensira Resort and Spa?  This family-friendly resort which is already a member of The Leading Hotels of the World reportedly opened January 2021 and I’m just reading about it now…I must be slipping.  Or too busy.  Or both.  Regardless, here are some facts about this beautiful new resort: Continue reading

Pics of the Unfinished Senator Riviera Cancun

When I stayed at Dreams Natura in November 2020, I took some pictures of the then current construction status of the neighboring resort, Senator Riviera Cancun Spa Resort.  I thought I would write a separate blog post along with the pictures I took and let you readers decide if you think it will in fact be completed by December 2021 (that’s the most recent opening date on the resort website).  Due to the rushing waters of the mangrove runoff, I chose not to walk directly over to the Senator and take head on shots of the resort–I wasn’t going to risk walking through deeper waters to get to that beach with God only knows what was being flushed out to sea from the mangroves via the runoff.  (From present day pics of Dreams Natura beach there is now a sign warning guests of possible alligators/crocodiles on the beach–yikes).

New Valentin Resort Approved

Fans of the adults-only Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya, take heart–final approval has been given for the completion of the originally planned complex conditionally approved back in 2005.  While only the Valentin was built and eventually opened in 2007, the rest of the originally planned complex consisted of two additional resorts (745 guest rooms in the second resort and 704 guest rooms in the third).  The second originally planned resort is supposed to be called Valentin Playa del Secreto and will be located north of Playa del Carmen.  No official opening date has yet been set.

The Amazing Resort Called Hotel Xcaret Mexico

Following our visit to the Riu Dunamar in February 2018 (if you want to read my review of that property just click here), my husband and I took a private shuttle to another new all-inclusive resort which also opened December 2017.  Hotel Xcaret Mexico is the first stage of a six stage project (Destino Xcaret) designed and built by the Mexican firm Grupo Xcaret.  The entire project will eventually consist of a multipurpose stadium, a shopping center, and 6,000 guest rooms across 12 hotels.  Hotels will range from luxury accommodations to those with four star ratings.
