Here’s a couple of live webcams from Cancun’s Hotel Zone which show how the current sargassum situation is affecting beaches in that location. The first is from the beach area by Punta Cancun which is in front of the Krystal resort properties and Hyatt Ziva Cancun at the very end (I believe this webcam is from the Park Royal property).

Now that AVA Cancun has had about a year to work out the “kinks”, it looks like there are some new additions and changes that have been made.
Hotel Xcaret Mexico is a pretty wonderful family-friendly luxury resort. It not only is a stunning looking property, but it offers great food and Hotel Xcaret’s All-Fun Inclusive Program which means you get free airport transportation (to and from), free admission to select local parks (plus transportation there and back), and free select excursions–I had a wonderful trip to Chichén Itzá during my resort stay and I didn’t spend an extra dime.
This brand new Riu resort has had many off and on starts due to its location south of Playa Delfines in Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Looks like all the permit matters got straightened out and it’s a big green light to go ahead and finish the build.
If you are a fan of Ocean By H10 Hotels and Resorts you will want to experience this brand new property being built in the Costa Mujeres area of Cancun. Ocean Azure Costa Mujeres with 599 guest rooms is an adults-only all-inclusive resort which is located between Riu Palace Costa Mujeres and Secrets Playa Blanca in Costa Mujeres which is north of downtown Cancun and will be about a 40+ minute drive from the Cancun airport.
