I typically post about all-inclusive resorts that have opened or about to open, but just thought I’d give readers a heads up on the status of the new Margaritaville St. Somewhere by Karisma opening up March 1, 2022 on Holbox.
At last, I was wondering if anyone who had camera/video access was staying at the brand new Breathless Cancun Soul in Cancun’s Hotel Zone! Here’s a new video to enjoy; it has lots of specific info about the resort and what to expect when you get there.
When Hyatt took over Secrets Silversands, they not only renovated the resort but they also added a water park. The water park is comprised of two sections–one for little ones with smaller waterslides, and the other section with lengthier waterslides for both kids and adults. The water park is located on the south side of the resort.

While Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun officially opened to guests in Sept. 2021, there were some amenities and services that were not yet available to vacationers. Christine Turner, a Canadian travel agent, made her second trip to the resort and has posted a short video updating resort information.
Want a very quick review of Hotel Xcaret Arte? The video below is one of the best short videos (and in English) that I’ve seen of this adults-only (age 16+) resort. Arte is so similar to its sister resort, Hotel Xcaret Mexico, a resort which I absolutely loved, I would expect this new one to be every bit as exquisite.
I’m back from my impromptu cruise vacation visiting Costa Rica and the Panama Canal–I’ve never been to those locations before and needed a break so why not? The cruise was just what I needed–use the at home Abbott tests, they are easy to administer and you get COVID results in 15 minutes (most cruise lines these days require a negative COVID test up to 2 days prior to sailing). I had an extra test so I used it when I got home and the results were negative–no bringing home COVID from my cruise.
Wyndham has opened its first Alltra all-inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya. It used to be a Panama Jack resort before the buyout, so it’s not a brand new build. It has a perfect location in Playa de Carmen–just on the south edge of famous 5th Ave for shopping, dining, bars, and nightlife, and walking distance to the Cozumel ferry.
Here’s another new all-inclusive resort to keep your eye on. Paradisus Playa Mujeres was supposed to open in 2019, then 2020, then 2021, now it is scheduled to open sometime in spring 2022. (Like the new Nickelodeon resort, I will believe it when I see it). At least they are giving hard hat tours, so that’s got to amount to something positive in terms of near completion. I believe it is located between Villa del Palmar and The Beloved in the Playa Mujeres beachfront area north of downtown Cancun. I parasailed in this area during my Aug. 2020 stay at Atelier Playa Mujeres; if you go to the thumbnail pics at the end of the blog post, it is the first thumbnail in the 5th row down. Interested in the newest Grupo Xcaret properties? Hotel Xcaret Arte has already opened, and on-time, while the neighboring property, Casa de la Playa, is still slated to open Dec. 2021. The drone video below shows a bit of the shoreline for both properties; looks like there is limited space to enter the water at Arte–at least the water color is beautiful now that the sargassum issue has abated for the season.
