Those interested in the brand new Riu Palace Kukulkan in Cancun’s Hotel Zone will be happy to know you can book a room for as low as $145 p/person p/night USD for fall/winter travel (I believe you have to book a minimum of three nights). I’ve already booked a new room category for March 2023, Jr. Suite Ocean View Elite Club, for my extended Quintana Roo spring vacay and was able to save an additional $200 USD by booking via the loyalty membership Riu Class on the resort’s website. It is free to sign up! You can choose how to pay if you book via the resort’s website–pay at the time of booking, pay at the hotel, etc.
The new Elite Club has three room categories you can book including Jr. Suite Ocean View, Jr. Suite Oceanfront View, and Suite Ocean View. Of course, you can always choose to book a non-upgraded room and get the great service and amenities for which Riu is known.
Here’s the advantages of booking Elite Club:
- dedicated check-in area
- premium room locations–that typically means closer to the pools and the beach
- upgraded mini-bar including snacks and bottle of wine
- upgraded in-room liquor dispenser offerings
- access to premium liquor at select bars
- welcome gift
- in-room aromatherapy
- late check-out until 1 p.m. and early check-in depending on availability
Interested? Don’t wait too long, there are lots of vacationers like me wanting to experience this new resort in an ideal Hotel Zone location–resort opening is scheduled for November 2022. It’s next to Live Aqua so it’s right on the bus line, it’s basically across the street from La Isla shopping mall and the ferris wheel, and it’s a short 15 min. shuttle ride from the Cancun airport.
