A New Suite Review at The Fives

Larger families and groups traveling together often have a difficult time finding all-inclusives which can accommodate their entire party while allowing for sufficient space for everyone involved.  The Fives Azul Beach Resort Playa del Carmen is a perfect choice to meet these specifications–suites come in a variety of bedrooms, from the standard type of room to three-bedroom suites with rooftop space.  This resort is located close to Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya which also makes it easy to shop in Playa, take excursions to the many wonderful cenotes and parks in the Riviera Maya, or just stay on-site and enjoy what the resort has to offer.  Karisma has spent over $40 million on renovations during the last several years which has included new guest room buildings, additional restaurants, a new Plaza area where guests can meet and mingle, and has also pumped sand into the ocean in their attempt to make a smoother ocean entry.

Another Suite Review–UNICO 2087 Alcoba Oceanfront

Time for another suite review, on this occasion from the adults-only UNICO 2087 in the Riviera Maya.  This is a five-star property and also a member of the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW); the resort has additional accolades including Travel and Leisure’s ranking of #7 out of 15 in the category of best Mexico Resort Hotels, in addition to ranking #3 in Conde Nast’s Reader’s Choice Awards in the category of best resorts in Eastern Mexico.  The 2087 in its name comes from the resort’s latitude and longitude coordinates.

Another Suite Category Review–Swim-Out Jr. Suite at The Haven

The Haven Riviera Cancun is a resort that has been on my radar for quite some time; however, the price point (when I’ve checked) resulted in a “no bueno” vote when it came to booking.  If anyone sees any great deals for this resort please let me know, I’d love to jump on the chance!  Here’s what I believe to be the resort’s selling points: Continue reading

Iberostar Tucan Superior Standard Room Video

I just got back from my trip to Cancun and the Riviera Maya, and here’s the room video of my first resort stay at Iberostar Tucan. The room is located in building #13 facing Sandos Playacar; this is an area where you have a better chance at seeing howler monkeys.  I got a complimentary upgrade from Brenda at the front desk once she learned I was interested in encountering monkeys–don’t be afraid to ask!

New Suite Review–El Dorado Maroma Overwater Palafitos

It has been back to work with a vengeance since returning from my latest Cancun stay, but I promise to get my first resort review up by the end of the weekend.  In the meantime, here is the latest in my ongoing suite saga–the overwater palafitos suite category at El Dorado Maroma.

Time For Another Suite Review–This Time at Beloved PM

I’m doing my suite review one day ahead of schedule because I have a full day planned during my last day in Cancun (I am currently finishing up my stay at Live Aqua).  Today’s review is a lovely two-story beachfront casita at the incredible Beloved Playa Mujeres.

Jr. Suite Ocean View Suite Review at the Hilton PDC

I am sitting here in my hotel room at LAX trying to get into vacation mode (my flight to Cancun leaves first thing tomorrow morning) and thought blogging about a suite in Cancun would be the perfect opportunity to do so.  Today I am highlighting a Jr. Suite Ocean View room category at the adults-only Hilton Playa del Carmen.  Hilton is another new player in the all-inclusive resort market (following on the heels of Hyatt’s venture); Hilton took over THE Royal Playa del Carmen which was one of the more popular adults-only all-inclusives in the Riviera Maya.

Live Aqua Cancun Viento Suite Review

Ahhhh, it’s Friday and time for another suite review….I’m highlighting the Viento Suite in one of my favorite all-inclusive resorts, Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun.  I stayed at Live Aqua during my very first visit to Cancun–I’ve never forgotten the fantastic ocean view from my balcony, the snacks and drinks at the Aqua Club Lounge for upgraded guests, the spa-like aroma of the entire resort, the incredibly friendly service, and the wonderful pools and day beds, all of which have me returning for a second visit in just a couple of weeks.  Live Aqua recently finished a thorough renovation including its guest rooms, so I will be checking out everything to see what these changes look like.
