Generations Resort Suite Review–Connecting Three Bedroom Swim-Up Suite

Do you have a large family, or like to travel together with other families, neighbors, or friends?  Then let Karisma’s Generations Riviera Maya resort make your vacation a special one with its “all suite, all oceanfront, all gourmet” all-inclusive concept.

This resort is located approximately 25-35 minutes south of the Cancun airport and is part of the popular Karisma chain of properties.  “Foodies” tend to like Karisma’s resorts since their emphasis has always been on quality dishes and the use of fresh, local ingredients (this resort gets its produce from El Dorado Royale’s massive private garden which is just two resorts away)..  Generations is Karisma’s first family-friendly resort, and it has been a huge success.  While many vacationers become frustrated booking multiple rooms together in one location (most all-inclusives do not guarantee room location if it’s not its own separate room category), Karisma guarantees two-bedroom connecting suites, or a three-bedroom suite with two connecting rooms with the third being immediately adjacent–no hassle during check-in, and more time to enjoy being in close proximity to one’s travel partners.

Generations has a very good kid’s program as well as amenities which parents can request (re. baby monitor, bottle warmer, pack ‘n play, changing table, etc.).  Another program which is unique to the resort is the “Little Eko Chefs” program where kids between the ages of 4-12 can learn about nutrition while they practice preparing and making simple dishes.

While pools are king at this resort, the beach is not.  Vacationers can marvel at Kankanán, the new artificial reef completed in 2015, but ocean swimming is not that great.

Here’s what you get with the Oceanfront Three Bedroom Swim-Up Suite:

  • two of the three bedrooms are connected while the third is immediately adjacent
  • a total of 2,031 sq. feet of space
  • this suite combo is located on floors one through three
  • this suite combo is comprised of two oceanfront one-bedroom swim-up suites plus an oceanfront luxury suite
  • living room space can be closed off by a sliding panel for privacy
  • large kitchen spaces, some with full-size refrigerators stocked with sodas, beers, and waters, large kitchen tables, and wet bar
  • swim-up pool directly off one’s terrace (upper floor swim-up pools are infinity pools with ocean views, whereas ground floor swim-ups directly connect with the main pool which has a swim-up bar).  If you want direct access to the main pool, you’ll have to book the Oceanfront Three Bedroom POOL Swim-Up Suite category.
