Here’s a look at the brand new Catalonia Costa Mujeres. While the video primarily features drone shots of the property, there are some pics of restaurants and guest rooms. The video also offers a brief side shot of what I believe to be the new Planet Hollywood which is still being built.
This new drone video is getting me excited for my upcoming trip which I’ll be taking in a few weeks! It shows the layout of the whole Barcelo Maya Grand resort complex including the new adults-only section to the south (the semi-circular building complex to the left on the screen). The entire ground floor looks like swimouts, my chosen room category–could be one huge party if the right people are there. I’ve stayed at some great resorts in my day, but Grand Velas Riviera Maya remains one of the most beautiful all-inclusives I’ve ever seen. From the world-renowned spa (voted by Forbes as one of the 30 most luxurious spas in the world), to its acclaimed dining at Cocina de Autor, this resort epitomizes what a luxury vacation should be.
For those readers curious about the brand new adults-only Barcelo resort, a new drone video has been posted on YouTube. Just thought I’d post it here in case you don’t visit YouTube with any regularity. This resort is actually ahead of its construction schedule and will be opening on time this December 2019.
For those of you who’ve heard about Maroma Beach (voted one of the world’s best beaches) but have not yet experienced it, here’s a video giving you an idea of it’s beauty. The resorts covered in the video are the Catalonia Playa Maroma (all-inclusive), Secrets Maroma (all-inclusive), and the Belmond Maroma (not all-inclusive).
I believe the last drone video of Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya I posted was back in 2016, but I’m posting another just to remind everyone what a spectacular adults-only resort this really is–take a look at the video and tell me what you think.
This video was taken prior to the building of the adults-only section (Barcelo Maya Riviera), but it does show the rest of this mega-resort. The Barcelo Maya Grand resort is actually five (and soon to be six) resorts-in-one comprised of the Barcelo Maya Beach, Caribe, Colonial, Tropical, and the Palace resorts. Just for fun–found a drone video of part of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. The drone didn’t make it as far south as the Westin, and also didn’t travel over the northern part of the Hotel Zone, but it was fun to take another peek at all the resort’s along the east side of the Zone.
If you haven’t checked out Vacation Couple’s drone videos, you should. They are “ambassadors” (social media promoters) for Air Canada Vacations and have gone to some beautiful resorts shooting great videos wherever they go. Check out this one of Hotel Xcaret Mexico, one of my all-time personal favorite resorts.
