Drone Video of Dreams Riviera Cancun

With “cancel for any reason” travel insurance in hand, so to speak, I’m booked to go back to the Riviera Maya second week in November.  My travel companions on this trip have outvoted me, so no party suite at Atelier (boooo–will have to do this one on a solo trip).  Instead, we will be going to the Puerto Morelos area (supposedly affected less severely by COVID-19 than other Riviera Maya areas such as Playa del Carmen) to the brand new Now Natura with my free stay voucher, then onto Dreams Riviera Cancun booked in the Governor’s Suite.  I did not know this Dreams resort was only two resorts south of Now Sapphire where I stayed in February!  Since I stayed at Dreams Playa Mujeres several years ago, I know that the Dreams resort line is a quality family-friendly option.

Has anyone stayed in the Governor’s Suite?  First time at both resorts, so it should be an interesting trip to say the least.  The Suite sounds lovely–beachfront with a terrace Jacuzzi and private infinity plunge pool.  If anyone has stayed in this room category or this resort in general let me know what your experience has been.

Here’s a short drone video of the Dreams’ resort; what do you think?  Would you stay here, or have you already stayed here?

  1. My husband and I stayed at Dreams Riviera last year, in a swim up room. We were underwhelmed by the entire resort. Nothing was bad, but nothing wowed us. We have stayed in many, many resorts in Cancun and Riviera Maya, so we have a lot to compare to. There are many better choices and a better bang for your buck. This resort is very wedding oriented, so many areas are closed down for weddings. Nightly entertainment was lame. No dedicated space. There was just chairs lined up in the lower lobby area. The fire show was good. The food was meh. Buffet was terrible. No variety and nothing special. it’s like this resorts tries, but just doesn’t get there. We would not stay here again.
