A Late Suite Review–Swim-Up Suite at Paradisus La Esmeralda
For those of you who now look for my Friday suite review, mea culpa; sorry I’m late but work took precedence–who would have thought so many individuals needed documents at the same time?? Anyway, here’s a review for families out there who are searching for an upscale resort in the Riviera Maya not too far from Playa del Carmen. The Paradisus Playa del Carmen is a large property with two separate sections including adults-only (La Perla), and a family-friendly section (La Esmeralda). This review will focus on a Family Concierge One Bedroom Master Swim-Up Suite in the La Esmeralda section.

This resort is just about ready to reopen its doors after a complete renovation which was done in stages; it is slightly behind schedule, and when I confirm a reopening date I will post it. (FYI: I just got confirmation as of Oct. 19 that the resort has now reopened).

Drone Video of Barcelo Maya Grand Resort
This video was taken prior to the building of the adults-only section (Barcelo Maya Riviera), but it does show the rest of this mega-resort. The Barcelo Maya Grand resort is actually five (and soon to be six) resorts-in-one comprised of the Barcelo Maya Beach, Caribe, Colonial, Tropical, and the Palace resorts. I’ve had some requests for more information concerning family-friendly resorts, and in particular, resorts which can cater to larger families. So here’s my attempt to help some readers focus on specific resorts which can do just that. The resorts listed below are geared towards handling families of five or more, some even have connecting bedrooms.
