Hard Rock Cancun Suite Review

I can’t believe it’s Friday again–time for another suite review.  This time I’m taking a closer look at the one-bedroom Rock Suite Platinum at the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun.

The Hard Rock in Cancun’s Hotel Zone used to be the Cancun Palace resort; it opened its doors in 2012 while finishing a thorough renovation.  Since then it has grown exponentially in popularity where one can now have a difficult time booking this resort during high season or holidays–try booking this resort for a spring break stay less than six months prior and you will find slim pickings, if any.

Here are the resort’s main draws:

  • live music performances throughout the resort–Hard Rock Hotel Cancun has previously booked famous names for spring break such as Lil Jon and Jason Derulo.  Spring break pool parties such as these with big name performers tend to be rather “enthusiastic” with lots of foam, liquor, and in-pool dancing. How big are these kinds of pool parties?  Lets just say there is no room for swimming, it’s body to body.
  • super large beachfront main pool with two swimup bars.  It’s an awesome pool with expansive ocean views from this infinity pool.
  • opportunities for adults and children to participate in the musical ambiance of the resort by playing an instrument or singing–there are opportunities to perform live for other guests.  Vacationers can also learn how to mix like a real DJ, be in their own rock video, or remaster a tune in-house.  The overall program is called the Music Lab.
  • most a la carte restaurants do not require a dinner reservation–the exception is the Zen restaurant, but all teppanyaki show tables at any resort need a reservation.

Another one of the great aspects of this resort is that many rooms have an ocean view.  All rooms and suites have an in-room two-person Jacuzzi tub, balcony, free WiFi, 24-hr. complimentary room service, and Bluetooth-enabled alarm clock radio.  One of the main drawbacks concerning rooms is that most do not have pull-out sofas, so if you have more than two in your party you may be cramped in a regular room.

One of the options available for guests with parties larger than two is the Rock Suite Platinum–there are one and two-bedroom suites available in this suite category.  The entire space for the one-bedroom is 1,065 sq. feet which includes a separate bedroom with Jacuzzi tub; the living room has a queen sofa bed, table and chairs for six, and a large flat screen TV.  The best part, besides the extra space, is the balcony–it’s huge with a table and four chairs and two full loungers.  You could literally have a party in that space.

Take a quick look at the video below of the one-bedroom Rock Suite Platinum–would you stay here?

  1. You had me at Jason Derulo. Thank you for sharing this post, I’m looking into going to Cancun this upcoming Spring Break, and Hard Rock Cancun seems like the place to go for liveliness. I’ll look into booking it now rather then later, thank you for the amazing suggestion!
