The videos are finally starting to get posted for the brand new Hilton Tulum, an all-inclusive resort located on a bay between Akumal and Tulum which opened May 2022. At the present time it’s the largest all-inclusive resort under the Hilton brand with 735 rooms and suites, eight pools plus a kid’s water park, 13 restaurants, three bars, separate kid’s and teens clubs, and an on-site gym.
New resorts always have issues, but they are typically worked out within 3-4 months. Such is the case with AMR Collection’s newer add, Breathless Cancun Soul. This resort opened Dec. 2021 and is located on the northwest end of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. It has 429 suites, three pools, 10 restaurants/dining venues, 10 bars, and 24/7 room service.
Another new resort opening I overlooked…The new Ventus Ha’ is a luxury hotel located in the midst of the mangroves right behind Ventus at Marina El Cid, while Ventus at Marina El Cid was added as an adjoining sister resort to Marina El Cid in 2017. The new Ventus Ha’ opened November 2021. All three are family-friendly; if you stay at the new Ventus Ha’ you have access to three resorts–stay at one play at three.
I keep seeing on my blog stats that readers still want to know what’s going on with the ex-ME Cancun/ex-Melody Maker resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone…the answer is that I do not know what’s going on with the much anticipated opening of this resort as the Armar House which is now owned by Marriott.
I often forget this Hotel Zone all-inclusive even exists. Atelier bought it around 2016 and completely renovated it to reopen in 2017–perhaps you remember this property by its various prior names of Hotetur, BelleVue Beach Paradise, or Hotel Yalmakan?
The Biden administration has decided to temporarily do away with the COVID testing requirement for international travelers wanting to enter the US; this decision was made based on the CDC’s recommendations that this testing was no longer necessary. This directly affects US citizens who are returning to the US from trips to Mexico–no more negative COVID test result 24 hrs. prior to your return. This new directive will be going into effect this Sunday, June 12, 2022.
More videos are slowly coming out on the brand new adults-only Secrets Moxche; here’s one which shows many more shots of interior spaces and what the resort looks like at night. I must say that this resort offers a lot of “eye candy” in addition to some brand new amenities like cenote and sand beach pools.
To tip or not to tip, that is the question…Lots of people decide not to tip when at an all-inclusive resort and that is based on the fact that resorts often state in their website that tipping is included in your all-in-one price.
I like many things about Atelier Playa Mujeres, but perhaps the one thing I appreciate the most is its attempt to keep improving itself and its amenities. While some of those specifics haven’t been cheap, like the reassignment of many suites to the upgraded Inspira room category, here’s something that will help guests to feel a bit better about what they get for their vacation dollar.
Looks like a date has been announced for the ex-Secrets Capri resort–it’s now called Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya and it’s scheduled to open Dec. 1, 2022. You can book the adults-only fully renovated resort and get rates for as low as $149 p/person p/night if you book by June 30, 2022 for travel starting Dec. 1, 2022.
