Attention travelers, if you have an acute case of beach withdrawal like I do right now, there is a cure–well, at least a temporary one. Fly to Cancun and visit Maroma Beach in the Riviera Maya, it’s only about a 40-min. drive south of the Cancun airport. Maroma Beach has won accolades from various travel media sources–the Travel Channel thought it noteworthy enough to put it within the top 10 spot in the World’s Best Beaches category several years running.

Interested in Resort Walkthrough Videos?
If you are one of those armchair travelers who enjoy a great walkthrough video to get an idea of what being at a specific resort is like, I have discovered a source where you can get your fill.
Interested in the Food and Drinks at Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun?
One of the things I’ve found to be outstanding about the rebranded Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun is the number of food and drink options available. There are at least seven restaurants serving a variety of meals (some serve a more buffet style breakfast and lunch while serving a la carte dinners with a specific theme), four various smaller food “shops” serving a small number of specific food options, and some bars which serve both drinks and snacks. There are also “pop-up” food stations as well.

It’s a “5 O’Clock Somewhere” State of Mind at Margaritaville Island Reserve
Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun is Karisma’s first partnership with the Jimmy Buffett hotel brand–I believe it is the very first Jimmy Buffett all-inclusive resort anywhere. This resort used to be known as Azul Beach Resort (Azul is Karisma’s family-friendly resort brand name); the resort reopened after a huge renovation but unfortunately it reopened right before the pandemic hit. It has been a slow start for them, but it looks like they are finally settling into their resort “groove”.
Mahekal Beach Resort, A Fairly New Addition to the All-Inclusive Resort Market…
I didn’t follow Mahekal Beach Resort since it originally did not have an all-inclusive option. Much to my surprise I discovered that it now offers an all-inclusive optional meal and beverage plan after reading Travel + Leisure’s listing of “World’s Best” (this resort came in at #5 in the category of top 25 resorts in Mexico). Here’s some info on the resort and what it has to offer: Continue reading

New Video of Oceanfront Suite at Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun
Interested in the renovation of what used to be known as Secrets Silversand? Here’s a new video by Christine Turner of an Oceanfront Suite (looks like a Jr. Suite) at the rebranded Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun.
New Video of Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun (formerly Secrets Silversand)
Thanks to Christine Turner, there is a brand new video out on the newly opened and renovated Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun which was formerly known as Secrets Silversand.
