Travel agents can be remarkably resourceful…a prime example would be agents/owners from Lone Star Travel who were allowed to be on-site at the new Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya (formerly known as Secrets Capri). It is still adults-only but has undergone a complete remodel with some new additions as well–think oceanfront swim-outs, for example. Lone Star Travel reps took videos from several areas of the resort including a guest room category, King Jr. Suite Tropical View.

There’s A New Riu Resort Now Open!
If you’ve been keeping track of the many new resorts already open or soon to open in the Cancun and Riviera Maya areas of Mexico, you may know that the brand new Hotel Riu Latino in the Costa Mujeres area north of Cancun just opened its doors for business. It is a new adults-only resort, and while it is not a Riu Palace brand, it has a lot to offer guests including a water park. It seems somewhat similar to Riu Dunamar which I stayed at several years ago–kids aren’t allowed at this one, however.
Hotel Xcaret Arte Has Some Policy Changes…
For those interested in booking Hotel Xcaret Arte or just interested in the resort in general, there are some very recent policy changes which have been in effect since Aug. 26, 2022. Here are the changes stated briefly, if you want a bit more specific info just watch the short video following this post; a travel agent goes over the specifics. Continue reading
Royal Uno Cancun Beachfront Suite
The Royal Uno Cancun just opened this summer but there have been few posted videos highlighting the accommodations. I found one which shows one of the suites I have been particularly interested in, the Beachfront Suite With Plunge Pool. It’s actually a one-bedroom Master Suite with a separate bedroom, two Murphy beds in the living room, and a very large terrace with its own small pool (it looks like a separate Jacuzzi is part of the pool) with several full loungers and a hammock with an unobstructed ocean view. Very nice; perfect for families with two children.

Did You Know Ocean Coral and Turquesa Has A New Adults-Only Section???
Ocean Coral and Turquesa resort has a new adults-only (18+) section called El Beso. Don’t confuse this resort with the Ocean Riviera Paradise which also has an El Beso section (they’re in the same H10 resort family). The new section was finished in the latter part of 2021 and consists of the following: Continue reading
La Casa de la Playa Update
I almost forgot about this brand new all-inclusive luxury resort which recently opened…La Casa de la Playa is the newest Hoteles Xcaret resort to open just south of Playa del Carmen. La Casa’s sister resorts, Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Hotel Xcaret Arte, are just south so they are grouped together. This is a boutique resort with only 63 suites and the most expensive one of the existing resorts; I priced an ocean view suite for two for an October stay and the suite category was $1,830 USD p/night…you do the math in terms of what the length of your vacation would cost. A definite perk for resort guests is that they are allowed to visit both sister resorts, but no one else is allowed on the property so the amenities here would not get overwhelmed and too busy or noisy.
Secret Dessert at VIM’s Taman Sari?
For those vacationers who think they know everything about Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya, have you ever heard of the “Secret Box” dessert at Taman Sari? I just ran across this info while watching some YouTube resort videos. It’s NOT on the menu, so I assume it’s only for those who are “in the know” about this resort…
