The brand new Ocean by H10 resort, Ocean Azure Costa Mujeres, looks like it is slightly changing its name to Ocean Allure Costa Mujeres.  It’s adults-only and looks like it has the potential to be a very popular property with amenities typically included for family travel.
An update here concerning the brand new Secrets Mirabel which was scheduled to open Oct. 2025 but now has been postponed until sometime in Nov. 2025 (I swear the new Secrets and Dreams resorts are NEVER open on time). Since there is no set date in Nov. I would be willing to bet that they won’t be open until early Dec. 2025 or even Jan. 2026 if things go really south. The spa won’t be available for use until Feb. 2026.
Riu is opening a brand new family-friendly resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone…it’s supposed to open Dec. 2025 so we will see if that actually happens. It’s called Riu Ventura and it’s family-friendly with an adults-only rooftop pool area.

For those families waiting for Dreams Grand Island to open, you will have to wait until at least September 2025.
This brand new Riu resort has had many off and on starts due to its location south of Playa Delfines in Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Looks like all the permit matters got straightened out and it’s a big green light to go ahead and finish the build.
If you are a fan of Ocean By H10 Hotels and Resorts you will want to experience this brand new property being built in the Costa Mujeres area of Cancun.  Ocean Azure Costa Mujeres with 599 guest rooms is an adults-only all-inclusive resort which is located between Riu Palace Costa Mujeres and Secrets Playa Blanca in Costa Mujeres which is north of downtown Cancun and will be about a 40+ minute drive from the Cancun airport. The beach area right in this section of the coastline is some of the best in Costa Mujeres–just check out pics or videos of Secrets Playa Blanca and you can tell this will be an awesome resort beach!
Here’s some more info on the new Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres; it just opened a couple of months ago so some aspects of the resort are still being worked out, but overall it looks great (with the exception of the new foliage, but only time will fix that).
Bahia Principe is spending over $133 million on renovations to various properties in 2025, and that includes adding an adults-only section to their family-friendly Bahia Principe Grand Coba resort in Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Grand Coba is part of a mega-resort property consisting of Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, Grand Coba, Luxury Akumal, and Luxury Sian Ka’an. The new section is called Bahia Principe Grand Tequila.
It’s been about a year since Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres opened its doors to guests, and it looks like things are going incredibly smoothly for such a “young” resort. Even the flora looks great and more mature than what I would expect for a newer resort.
