Here’s a Newer Video of the Brand New Breathless Cancun Soul

I’m back from my impromptu cruise vacation visiting Costa Rica and the Panama Canal–I’ve never been to those locations before and needed a break so why not?  The cruise was just what I needed–use the at home Abbott tests, they are easy to administer and you get COVID results in 15 minutes (most cruise lines these days require a negative COVID test up to 2 days prior to sailing).  I had an extra test so I used it when I got home and the results were negative–no bringing home COVID from my cruise.

Opening of First Wyndham Alltra in the Riviera Maya

Wyndham has opened its first Alltra all-inclusive resort in the Riviera Maya.  It used to be a Panama Jack resort before the buyout, so it’s not a brand new build.  It has a perfect location in Playa de Carmen–just on the south edge of famous 5th Ave for shopping, dining, bars, and nightlife, and walking distance to the Cozumel ferry.

How to Save Money at the Beginning of Your All-Inclusive Stay…

At last, I finalized my resort list for my upcoming April trip to Cancun. I got tired of paying a lot of money just to sleep at an expensive resort my first vacation day, so I decided to look into a much cheaper alternative.  I fly into Cancun from the west coast, so my entire first travel day is just that–travel.  On any given trip to Cancun I typically fly in around 5 or so, and there goes the whole day once I’m settled into my room.

Interested in the New Paradisus Playa Mujeres?

Here’s another new all-inclusive resort to keep your eye on.  Paradisus Playa Mujeres was supposed to open in 2019, then 2020, then 2021, now it is scheduled to open sometime in spring 2022.  (Like the new Nickelodeon resort, I will believe it when I see it).  At least they are giving hard hat tours, so that’s got to amount to something positive in terms of near completion.  I believe it is located between Villa del Palmar and The Beloved in the Playa Mujeres beachfront area north of downtown Cancun.  I parasailed  in this area during my Aug. 2020 stay at Atelier Playa Mujeres; if you go to the thumbnail pics at the end of the blog post, it is the first thumbnail in the 5th row down.  Just click on the thumbnail to get a larger picture of this resort.

Drone Shots of Hotel Xcaret Arte and Casa de la Playa

Interested in the newest Grupo Xcaret properties?  Hotel Xcaret Arte has already opened, and on-time, while the neighboring property, Casa de la Playa, is still slated to open Dec. 2021.  The drone video below shows a bit of the shoreline for both properties; looks like there is limited space to enter the water at Arte–at least the water color is beautiful now that the sargassum issue has abated for the season.

Choosing Your Room Location At Blue Diamond Resorts…

This is just an FYI blog post, some or many of you may already know about it but I thought I would post the info for those who don’t have a clue (like myself) that this ability exists.

Has Anyone Heard of Sensira Resort and Spa?

Travel agents excluded, how many of you have heard of or read about the new all-inclusive resort Sensira Resort and Spa?  This family-friendly resort which is already a member of The Leading Hotels of the World reportedly opened January 2021 and I’m just reading about it now…I must be slipping.  Or too busy.  Or both.  Regardless, here are some facts about this beautiful new resort: Continue reading

Garza Blanca Cancun To Celebrate Grand Opening

The new family-friendly, luxury all-inclusive optional resort, Garza Blanca Resort and Spa Cancun, is about to celebrate its Grand Opening next month.  This Playa Mujeres property, which is located just south of its sister resort, Villa del Palmar, had its “soft opening” last December with the availability of only 162 suites and several of its restaurants and pools.  Starting next month, all the following amenities should be available: Continue reading

Want Another Resort Water Park Option?

There’s been a lot of hype about the huge water park at the new Nickelodeon Riviera Maya.  The only catch is the price one has to pay to stay there–$5,500 for two adults in the off season of January in a basic king room (no airfare)…not everyone can afford that kind of price tag.
