Ready for more new all-inclusive resorts? Riu is planning on opening two adults-only resorts later on this year. Here’s the scoop:

Truly One of the Best Beaches in Mexico–Catalonia Playa Maroma, A Resort Review
Surprise! Another New Hilton All-Inclusive…
I’m definitely slipping in my old age, lol, or else the all-inclusive resort market in Cancun and the Riviera Maya is getting too overwhelming for me to keep track of–I would like to believe it’s the latter!
Learn About the Unique Spa at Planet Hollywood Cancun…
I have to start out this post with a self-disclosure–I typically don’t get any type of beauty or spa treatments when I go on vacation, and that includes stays at all-inclusive resorts. However, I have been curious about what the big draw is to certain resort spas and why guests are more than willing to pay several hundred dollars in an hour or two…I have gone so far as to visit the hydrotherapy circuit at TRS Coral (it was free with my booking), and I did do a video shoot of the unique looking spa at Dreams Natura to address my curiosity, but I am not the first one to sign up for spa treatments when I get to a resort.
Yes, You Can Get An All-Inclusive Package at the Mayakoba…
For those of you who absolutely HAVE to stay at the luxe Mayakoba complex in the Riviera Maya and still want all-inclusive perks, you can get it by booking the Andaz resort within the complex. The entire Mayakoba complex is located 25-min. south of the Cancun airport in a gated community of 620 acres with four major “resort” sections–the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, the Fairmont Mayakoba, the Rosewood Mayakoba, and the Andaz Mayakoba. Just be aware that staying at the Andaz only allows you to visit other resort restaurants (you have to make reservations), but there is no general exchange privileges with the other three resorts in this complex. Also, even though you may book the all-inclusive plan, you will have to pay for your food and drink orders at the other resort restaurants since they are not part of the all-inclusive plan.
Outstanding Swim-Ups–Flamingo Cancun Resort, A Low Budget Option
Here’s a swim-up option for those vacationers on a budget. You can still go to Cancun and stay in a swim-up suite without paying a fortune or going into debt. Cancun’s Hotel Zone has a great budget vacation option, Flamingo Cancun Resort. This family-friendly resort is located about a 20-min. drive north of the Cancun airport, and slightly over a mile from the popular La Isla Mall in the Hotel Zone. I put this resort in my “outstanding swim-up” list because most of these swim-ups are right on the beach, have ocean views (some room’s ocean views are partially obstructed by thick vegetation and palm/coconut trees), plus you have easy access to malls and the Party Zone in Cancun’s Hotel Zone.
Curious About the Differences Between Excellence Resorts?
I think that the Excellence brand is one of the best when it comes to all-inclusive resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya in Mexico. Two of the most popular resorts in these areas are Excellence Playa Mujeres (EPM) and Excellence Riviera Cancun (ERC). Both are highly ranked in TripAdvisor review ratings, and both deliver a quality of customer service which earns many repeat guests.
Bad News For Xibalba Reserve…
For those of you expectantly waiting for Grupo Xcaret’s latest adventure “park” to open, Xibalba Yucatan Nature Reserve, you will have to wait a little longer. Construction has been temporarily halted due to a lack of environmental permit filings on record.
Outstanding Swim-Ups–Wyndham Alltra Cancun
I thought a great deal about whether or not I should add this swim-up Jr. Suite at Wyndham Alltra Cancun to my “best of” series and finally decided to highlight it since it has such awesome oceanfront views. The official name of the suite is the Jr. Suite One King Bed, Beachfront Infinity Swim-Up. Here’s the good and not so good features of this swim-up…
Here’s More on Hotel Xcaret Arte…
I found this video on YouTube which is a bit long (over 20 min.) but gives a great overview of the wonderful experience you will have at Hotel Xcaret Arte, an adults-only (ages 16+) all-inclusive resort.
