AVA Resort Cancun did open on time on June 1, 2024. (Sorry I didn’t post info sooner but I was busy doing my grandma thing). Opening on time is a surprise given the size of the resort with 1,700 guest rooms. Below is a video highlighting interior/exterior spaces which are open; the video is done by Vincent Vacations. It is unknown at this point in time what is still being completed, so I will post as that info becomes available.
Is the brand new property AVA Resort Cancun ready to open on June 1, 2024 as advertised? From the brief video below is looks pretty close to being done on the exterior; if it’s like many new resorts there’s usually several amenities that won’t be open on their opening date.

For those of you awaiting the opening of the brand new adults-only Hyatt Vivid Grand Island resort, it’s here! The resort opened its doors to guests April 1, 2024 and is ready to happily welcome you.
I found a helpful video about the newly opened Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres; it highlights what the resort is doing to cover the major resort amenities which haven’t been completed yet (like the theater and the spa).
The brand new Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres is still scheduled to officially open Feb. 1, 2024. However, not all of the resort amenities will be available until after its opening. Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort (formerly known as CasaMagna) is located in Cancun’s Hotel Zone right next to its sister resort, JW Marriott Cancun–the one with the great oceanfront pool but is NOT an all-inclusive resort. Marriott Cancun closed last March for extensive renovations and has gone fully all-inclusive (it used to be an all-inclusive optional property).
