For those of you who count on taking the very good public bus system in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, be prepared for some service interruptions, at least for the present. Due to threats from taxi drivers to several bus drivers in the Hotel Zone, the public bus system may not be operating after 10:30 p.m. during your Cancun stay. This is typically a busy time for hotel guests who are in the process of leaving for popular bars and clubs in the Forum area of the Hotel Zone (clubs typically stay open until after 3 a.m. with many patrons arriving after 11 p.m.). Since the bus system in the Hotel Zone only costs 12 Mexican pesos (or you can give the bus driver a $1 USD bill) for a one-way trip, it is the cheapest way to get around Cancun.

New Beachfront Jacuzzis at Royal Sands Cancun…
Silent Discos at Resorts…
Silent discos are not exactly a brand new “thing”, they actually started being introduced at get togethers, parties, and wedding receptions in the US around 2019. Silent discos have gradually made their way to Mexico and other Caribbean resorts and, while they appear periodically at various properties in these areas, they don’t seem to stay around with any regularity (in general) nor have they been introduced at a lot of resorts, at least in eastern Mexico.

The votes are in and here’s the winners in Eastern Mexico’s Top 20 Best Resorts 2022 according to the most recent Conde Nast reader’s poll. I’ve only included the all-inclusive/all-inclusive optional resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Continue reading
Here’s A Few Outdoor Shots of Secrets Impression Moxche…
While I had hopes of getting a tour of the new Secrets Impression Moxche section while on my most current vacay, the opening date has been postponed until Dec. 1, 2022 so I missed out on that opportunity, darn. While I was walking around the grounds of Secrets Moxche, I poked my nose into some flora and peeked behind fences to get a few pics of some of the outdoor areas of the Impression section. Before I post the photos, here is a reminder of what you will be experiencing at this separate section of this beautiful resort. Continue reading

About Secrets Impression Moxche…
Just a note about the most recent delay of the upgraded Impression section of Secrets Moxche…as many of you know, I just returned from a trip to Cancun and a visit to both Platinum Yucatan Princess and the new Secrets Moxche. If you follow my blog at all you also know that it takes a bit for me to upload all my resort info since I have a regular day job and that obviously comes first when I come back from my vacations.
New Cancun Airport Departure Policy…
I’m back from my latest trip to Cancun and just wanted to drop a note about the current immigration policy change for those taking a flight home from the Cancun airport.
There’s A New Riu Resort Now Open!
If you’ve been keeping track of the many new resorts already open or soon to open in the Cancun and Riviera Maya areas of Mexico, you may know that the brand new Hotel Riu Latino in the Costa Mujeres area north of Cancun just opened its doors for business. It is a new adults-only resort, and while it is not a Riu Palace brand, it has a lot to offer guests including a water park. It seems somewhat similar to Riu Dunamar which I stayed at several years ago–kids aren’t allowed at this one, however.
Just A Note About New Cancun Airport Immigration Procedures…
I’m back in Cancun and just wanted to make a quick note about the new airport immigration rules here…no electronic machines yet which take your fingerprint, instead, you wait in the immigration line as usual but without any paperwork in hand which you used to fill out on the plane or from downloaded immigration forms prior to your trip. Be aware that there are multiple QR code signs in the immigration line saying it is necessary to scan it in order to bring up an immigration form, but just ignore them because this is only for RESIDENTS.
