Karisma Hotels and Resorts has introduced the world’s first Autism Concierge at most of their Mexico resort properties. An Autism Concierge will be the dedicated contact for all resort guests who either have autism themselves or are traveling with someone who has autism.
This brand new Secrets resort, Secrets Tulum Resort and Beach Club, will be opening Oct. 12, 2023. The parent company has allowed the release of a sneak peek of the 5 bedroom Beachfront Villa.
My last blog post was about the differences between the five resorts at the Iberostar Paraiso resort complex–this post is about the shopping area adjacent to the golf course across the road from the different resorts. All resorts at this complex have access to this shopping area, you just have to decide whether you want to walk to it or take a golf cart shuttle from your resort to the entrance of the mall.
If you enjoy vacationing at large megaresort complexes, you’ve probably read something about the Iberostar Riviera Maya property. I’m a big fan of resort loyalty programs. They work like many other loyalty programs– you can join for free and enjoy extra benefits the more you stay at resorts within a particular chain or brand. Of course, some are better than others; I’ve saved several hundred dollars each time I take a trip staying at a Catalonia resort since loyalty members get a certain percentage off a new booking. That extra money I usually apply towards an excursion like visiting a cenote in the area.
If you are a fan of indie folk/folk rock music, check out this music festival scheduled for Jan. 7-10, 2024 at Moon Palace resort. It’s called Out of the Blue Festival 2024, and it will feature such international stars as Noah Kahan, Caamp, Mt. Joy, and Lizzie McAlpine. Guests can purchase packages for stays in all areas of the entire resort–Nizuc, Sunrise, the Golf Course rooms, or at The Grand. Prices p/night are around $350 p/person. Moon Palace is an all-inclusive resort, so that means one price entitles you to all you can eat and drink during your stay. Round trip airport transportation in Out of the Blue shuttles will be provided and included in your overall cost to attend.
I found a video done by one of my favorite resort videographers, 3 Days 3 Noches, about the newest addition to the very popular Moon Palace resort. The Grand was finished in 2017 and adds a whopping 1,316 rooms to Moon Palace’s overall room count of 2,433. While I can’t find a firm number concerning total guest capacity of this resort as a whole, it is somewhere over 10,000 for the entirety of this huge mega-resort complex. With this kind of potential demand, you have to know that this resort must offer something special to keep guests coming back year after year as well as being able to attract new guests.
For those of you who didn’t know (that included myself until I accidentally came across the info), Grand Palladium Kantenah has been closed since April 15, 2023, and is planning on reopening Dec. 15, 2023. The resort has been closed primarily for room refurbishments and the addition of rooms and amenities for the resort chain’s successful Family Selection program. The Family Selection program is considered to be a “resort within a resort” and has already been implemented at both the Costa Mujeres and Puerto Vallarta resort chain locations. Kantenah resort is part of a mega-resort complex also consisting of the adults-only TRS Yucatan (you can read my resort review here), the Colonial, and the White Sand family resorts. It’s a very large mega-resort complex but is very popular with all it has to offer vacationers since all family resort’s amenities and services are available to one another. The adults-only section, of course, is only for guests who stay in that particular resort, and the Family Selection will only be available for upgraded Kantenah guests.
It’s back to the reality of working, posting on my blog, and finishing my all-inclusive resort book after my latest mini-vacay in Mammoth Lakes at the Bluesapalooza Beer and Music Festival. Such a neat setting to hear blues amidst the pines in the eastern Sierras near Yosemite, and, of course, to sample a few specialty brews while doing so. I always enjoy Christine Turner’s Mexico resort videos (Ms. Turner is a Canadian travel agent), she does a great job in filling in the details about a property. Here’s a new video she’s put out about details concerning the brand new Secrets property set to open Dec. 1, 2023. It will be called Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres. As Ms. Turner states in the video, this will be a soft opening with reportedly lower pricing, but some of the room categories will not be available when it opens in Dec.
