Excellence Playa Mujeres Suite Video Tour

I’ve decided to do something a bit different–I will be posting at least one video a week of a specific resort suite category which I believe deserves mention.  Most of these videos are not mine since I’m assuming followers of my blog have already seen many of the room video’s I’ve already taken (if you haven’t seen them, you can view them on YouTube under the Allinclusive Gal name).  Don’t worry, they aren’t all Presidential Suites–after all, who can afford one of those every time you go on vacation–but there might be one or two I will slip in for fun.

Is Xplor or Xplor Fuego More Your Style?

Xplor or Xplor Fuego?  Too bad this is not the most difficult question to be answered in life.  If you are going to the Riviera Maya and thinking of visiting the parks, it will be a question you will have to contemplate at some point.

Drone Video of Hotel Xcaret

If you haven’t checked out Vacation Couple’s drone videos, you should.  They are “ambassadors” (social media promoters) for Air Canada Vacations and have gone to some beautiful resorts shooting great videos wherever they go.  Check out this one of Hotel Xcaret Mexico, one of my all-time personal favorite resorts.

Akumal Bay Drone Video–With Buoys

I love drone videos of resorts since it gives me an overall view of the surrounding area as well as the resort’s general layout.  Here’s a good video of Akumal Bay with its system of buoys to delineate where one can snorkel–my last visit to Akumal Bay in 2015 was before the “madness” started about beach access/snorkeling restrictions implemented by the Mexican government.  While the new rules help keep the turtles less stressed, it can be confusing for snorkelers.

What Is Sargassum?

What is sargassum?

Although my first response to this question is “irritating and a potential vacation disaster for beach lovers”, here’s a scientific explanation to the phenomena we all hate to see when we visit Cancun/Riviera Maya.  Hope this helps answer questions about where it comes from.

Riu Palace Riviera Maya Closes for Renovations

FYI:  Since I made this post, I’ve done more checking into the resort’s renovations and have found out it is a total gut job.  Yes, everything is going.  I’ve watched videos of the pools being decimated, another floor is being added to some guest room buildings, and seen computer generated pics of the lobby area which keeps none of the elegant charm that I loved about this resort.  If you want more moment-by-moment info on this renovation, the best place to get it is on Facebook–ask to join the Riu Palace Riviera Maya page.

Two New Resorts Planned For Tulum

I am back from a week-long mother-daughter trip, caught up on backlogged work projects, and ready to resume my blog writing!!  I found some info concerning new resorts in practically everyone’s favorite Riviera Maya destination–Tulum.  Tulum has always been known for its pristine beaches and laid-back Mexican vibe; however, while it has fabulous beaches, renowned beach parties and bars, and wonderful Mexican food, its primary accommodation offerings run the gamut from expensive boutique hotels to casual beach hotels that only offer the basics (some don’t even offer A/C).  The nearest allinclusive resort is approximately five miles from Tulum proper (Dreams Tulum), and that resort was completed back in 2000.
