Can’t wait until my solo trip coming up in late April/early May! I’ve been looking for a video showing what some of my chosen room categories will actually look like (I’m staying at three separate properties), and recently found one on the oceanfront swim-up room category which I will have when staying at my first resort, Riu Ventura.
I just took advantage of the Majestic resorts offer of up to 60% off…I booked a stay at the brand new Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres for the first part of May 2026 staying in a Mirage Club Plunge Pool Suite Oceanfront. That would be the adults-only section of this all suites family-friendly resort and with its own small private pool. When I walked by this property on my daily beach treks when staying next door at Riu Latino it appealed to me so I’m going to check it out. Anyone who follows my blog and knows my vacation interests knows that swim-up and plunge pool rooms are my favorites so I’m looking forward to enjoying my 1,000 sq. foot suite all by myself (that should be enough room for one, right?? lol). I would highly suggest that if anyone is thinking of booking this new Majestic resort to check out their discount. I got my suite for a steal of a deal and couldn’t pass it up.

For those of you who haven’t been following this new resort, it just opened a couple of days ago and is located on one of the most beautiful beaches in Cancun’s Hotel Zone (Playa Delfines). Be careful of the surf in this area, I just read that lifeguards have been busy rescuing swimmers from rip currents so just use caution and respect beach flags–red means dangerous conditions, yellow means use caution, and green means calm surf.
If anyone is curious about the new Riu Ventura, here’s a short drone video of the build which was taken about a month ago. Notice the beautiful beach area it’s on (it’s by Playa Delfines), but also notice that this resort is built in a more perpendicular position to the beach so that means less real oceanfront room views vs. all the side ocean views. Some vacationers like both a sunrise/ocean view while others like more of a partial ocean view with an emphasis on sunset views when staying in the Hotel Zone, so this property can accommodate both wants as far as that is concerned.
Riu is opening a brand new family-friendly resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone…it’s supposed to open Dec. 2025 so we will see if that actually happens. It’s called Riu Ventura and it’s family-friendly with an adults-only rooftop pool area.
This brand new Riu resort has had many off and on starts due to its location south of Playa Delfines in Cancun’s Hotel Zone. Looks like all the permit matters got straightened out and it’s a big green light to go ahead and finish the build.
