I have been feeling quite fatigued with both Christmas preparations and work and needed a quick “mind vacation” to one of the most popular all-inclusive adults-only resorts in the Riviera Maya, Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya. This resort has a reputation for being both luxurious and fun and attracts lots of couples and groups of friends traveling together.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya Pool Area (Formerly Secrets Capri)
If you are following the upcoming opening of the fully renovated Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya, formerly known as Secrets Capri, here is a video about just the main pool area. If you remember what the pool was like when it was a Secrets resort, the main complaint was one of slipping when entering the pool. Catalonia Royal Tulum–A Resort Review
I stayed at this resort from July 7-11, 2021 as a solo traveler. While I originally chose CRT for its beautiful Xpu-Ha beach location, the massive amount of incoming sargassum made it impossible to get into the ocean or fully appreciate the natural beauty of this beach area during my time here. However, I did enjoy my stay; hopefully this review will help others to decide whether the beach is the draw at CRT, or whether a resort booking here is worth it regardless of the sargassum situation.
