FYI: I just came across info that Grand Velas Riviera Maya also has a policy that any food, drinks, or other amenities will be an extra cost once you check out and it’s past 12 p.m.
Update: While Dreams Sapphire recently posted a promo video of their Indigo section amenities and labelled it as their “Grand Opening”, I’m still not convinced it’s open to the general public. I’m still waiting for Instagram pics or YouTube videos to come out…If anyone knows differently let me know.
Is anyone else interested in Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres which is currently under construction? I certainly am. Excellence, in my opinion, is one of the best brand names when it comes to vacationing at an all-inclusive resort (Finest resorts is the family-friendly option for this brand). They don’t skimp on anything, generally have great food, in-room liquor, top-class amenities–what’s NOT to like…

For those of you new to staying at all-inclusive resorts, you may be wondering what exactly is included for the price you pay? Very relevant question and one that shouldn’t be taken for granted. A huge way to ruin a vacation is to have one or a multiple number of expectations about your stay and to be disillusioned as to what amenities and services you expect to receive once you are at a resort.
For those who haven’t recently stayed at an Iberostar resort, the brand has been undergoing some changes including name changes and the addition of adults-only sections. This is also true for the Iberostar property in Cancun; some people will remember this oddly shaped property in Cancun’s Hotel Zone as a Hilton resort, but the property changed hands several years ago and has added an adults-only separate building called Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun. The family-friendly section is called Iberostar Selection Cancun, and adults staying in the Coral section have access to the entire resort.
Hotel Mousai Cancun is a brand new luxury adults-only all-inclusive resort. Even though it only has 88 suites, it offers a rooftop pool area. More and more new resorts are including this kind of space–maximizing views while offering a smaller version of a main pool experience.
