I found this YouTube video by Palm Leaf Travel to be interesting and informative in comparing two popular Hotel Zone all-inclusive properties which are family-friendly–Hyatt Ziva Cancun and Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun. Both are located at the northeast corner of the “7” (Cancun’s Hotel Zone is literally shaped like the number 7) at Punta Cancun.

Hilton Tulum Kid’s Section Open July 15
For those of you interested in the brand new Hilton Tulum all-inclusive resort, take a quick look at this very brief video that gives everyone a sneak peak of what the outdoor area looks like at the kid’s play area of this resort. It seems this resort is opening in sections–I already did a general blog post about it so you can read and see general info on the resort. This new section just opened.
Another Bang For Your Buck Resort…
Riu resorts have got to be one of the best vacation values out there. I have been to several in the Cancun and Riviera Maya areas and have had a great time at each one. If you are looking for more “bang for your buck” vacation values, here’s another option.
Another Resort To Add To The All-Inclusive Optional List…
If you are a fan of all-inclusive resorts plus a Hyatt Hotels and Resorts member, you will certainly celebrate this chain’s immersion into the all-inclusive market. While some Hyatt resorts are fully all-inclusive, resorts like the family-friendly Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen are now all-inclusive optional, meaning that when booking you can choose the all-inclusive package–simply booking this resort doesn’t automatically mean you can eat and drink without an extra charge.
Want To See What The New Hilton Tulum Looks Like?
The videos are finally starting to get posted for the brand new Hilton Tulum, an all-inclusive resort located on a bay between Akumal and Tulum which opened May 2022. At the present time it’s the largest all-inclusive resort under the Hilton brand with 735 rooms and suites, eight pools plus a kid’s water park, 13 restaurants, three bars, separate kid’s and teens clubs, and an on-site gym.
Now That the “Bugs” Have Been Worked Out at Breathless Cancun Soul…
New resorts always have issues, but they are typically worked out within 3-4 months. Such is the case with AMR Collection’s newer add, Breathless Cancun Soul. This resort opened Dec. 2021 and is located on the northwest end of Cancun’s Hotel Zone. It has 429 suites, three pools, 10 restaurants/dining venues, 10 bars, and 24/7 room service.
What Is The New Ventus Ha’?
Another new resort opening I overlooked…The new Ventus Ha’ is a luxury hotel located in the midst of the mangroves right behind Ventus at Marina El Cid, while Ventus at Marina El Cid was added as an adjoining sister resort to Marina El Cid in 2017. The new Ventus Ha’ opened November 2021. All three are family-friendly; if you stay at the new Ventus Ha’ you have access to three resorts–stay at one play at three.
What’s Up With the Ex-Melody Maker?
I keep seeing on my blog stats that readers still want to know what’s going on with the ex-ME Cancun/ex-Melody Maker resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone…the answer is that I do not know what’s going on with the much anticipated opening of this resort as the Armar House which is now owned by Marriott.
Has Anyone Even Heard Of OLEO Cancun Playa?
I often forget this Hotel Zone all-inclusive even exists. Atelier bought it around 2016 and completely renovated it to reopen in 2017–perhaps you remember this property by its various prior names of Hotetur, BelleVue Beach Paradise, or Hotel Yalmakan?
Yes, You Can Get An All-Inclusive Package at the Mayakoba…
For those of you who absolutely HAVE to stay at the luxe Mayakoba complex in the Riviera Maya and still want all-inclusive perks, you can get it by booking the Andaz resort within the complex. The entire Mayakoba complex is located 25-min. south of the Cancun airport in a gated community of 620 acres with four major “resort” sections–the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, the Fairmont Mayakoba, the Rosewood Mayakoba, and the Andaz Mayakoba. Just be aware that staying at the Andaz only allows you to visit other resort restaurants (you have to make reservations), but there is no general exchange privileges with the other three resorts in this complex. Also, even though you may book the all-inclusive plan, you will have to pay for your food and drink orders at the other resort restaurants since they are not part of the all-inclusive plan.
