Some surprising news, several Royal Resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya have been sold to Holiday Inn Club Vacations–Royal Sands, Royal Cancun, Royal Haciendas, and Grand Residences now belong to this IHG partner. These properties are the first in the Holiday Inn Club Vacations family to be located outside of the US. It is estimated it will take 1 yr. to fully integrate these resorts into the IHG portfolio with no anticipated changes in operation during that time.

Looking For An Affordable All-Inclusive Close to Playa del Carmen?
If you want to stay close to vibrant 5th Ave. in the city of Playa del Carmen while on vacation, check out Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen. This property has fairly recently changed its name twice–Gran Porto became Panama Jacks, and Panama Jacks has now become a Wyndham Alltra property.
Some Major Changes Happening With Oasis Hotels and Resorts…
I generally don’t tend to follow Oasis Hotels and Resorts, so I missed their recent changes entirely until I began seeing new video snippets of The Sens Cancun which looked very much like Grand Oasis Palm. So that you have an idea of where this resort is located, Grand Oasis Palm and Oasis Palm are adjacent to one another and are both situated towards the western end of Cancun’s Hotel Zone by the pirate ship excursion and Cancun’s Scenic Tower. I’m still trying to put these changes together in a coherent fashion, so if there are any readers out there that know more about this resort change than I do, please chime in and let me know where I may be assuming something or have left out something important.

Christine Turner does it again by giving vacationers extra help in booking exactly what they want for their travels. Want to book a Tropical Jr. Suite Swim-Up at the new Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya but want to know where they are located at the resort and what view you will have? This video will help you out in choosing just the right room location for your vacation needs.
Want to See More of Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya?
The newly rebranded and renovated Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya (what used to be Secrets Capri) recently opened; here’s another live streaming event which was hosted by Christine Turner, a travel agent out of western Canada. It shows both indoor and outdoor spaces with Christine providing commentary about resort amenities and services.
New Video From Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya…
Christine Turner, a travel agent based out of Canada, just hosted a livestream from the brand new adults-only Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya yesterday (remember Secrets Capri? This is the same property but fully renovated with some new additions). Yes, the resort is already open as of Dec. 1, 2022 and has some amazing looking additions and renovations. Like oceanfront plunge pools? You can book it here. Like the ability to not fully upgrade but want butler service? You can do that here as well with a daily additional fee for just butler service.
Interested in the New Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya?
Looks like the rebranded, fully renovated Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya is going to be open for business Dec. 1, 2022. (This resort used to be Secrets Capri). I found this video which was livestreamed recently by a Playa rep; it gives you lots of detail about the resort.
Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya Pool Area (Formerly Secrets Capri)
If you are following the upcoming opening of the fully renovated Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya, formerly known as Secrets Capri, here is a video about just the main pool area. If you remember what the pool was like when it was a Secrets resort, the main complaint was one of slipping when entering the pool. Hopefully that has been resolved; it looks like the pool was completely redone so I am guessing it’s a thumbs up for pool entry this time around.
Interested in the New Wyndham Grand Cancun (Formerly the Omni)?
For those interested in what cosmetic changes have been made to the Omni (now known as the Wyndham Grand Cancun), here’s a video which does a good job of summarizing the resort’s amenities and features. I wish the videographer would have showcased one of the villa suites since I think it’s always been one of this resort’s best draws. Glad to see Wyndham still kept the sushi station and the beachfront swim-up bar area!
New Hyatt (Old Secrets Capri) Sneak Peek…
Travel agents can be remarkably resourceful…a prime example would be agents/owners from Lone Star Travel who were allowed to be on-site at the new Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya (formerly known as Secrets Capri). It is still adults-only but has undergone a complete remodel with some new additions as well–think oceanfront swim-outs, for example. Lone Star Travel reps took videos from several areas of the resort including a guest room category, King Jr. Suite Tropical View.
