Interested in the brand new adults-only Hyatt Vivid Grand Island resort in Cancun? This new resort is located on the Nichupté Lagoon side in the Hotel Zone, it’s not beachfront as most all-inclusive resorts are situated in Cancun. Hyatt’s newest adults-only resort, Hyatt Vivid Grand Island, is still scheduled to open April 1, 2024. It will be the first of a two-part resort to open with the second being an adjoining family-friendly resort option called Dreams Grand Island, but the Dreams resort is still being completed and will not open at the same time. When it does open, guests of the new Hyatt will have access to the second resort–stay at one play at two. I already posted an article about the new Hyatt and you can read it here.
I found a helpful video about the newly opened Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres; it highlights what the resort is doing to cover the major resort amenities which haven’t been completed yet (like the theater and the spa).
If you are tracking what’s going on with the newly opened Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres, you will know that pools are plentiful, ocean views are gorgeous, and business is kind of slow right now, but that is as expected for a newly opened resort that has already made it known that some of their amenities won’t be open until June.

With its grand opening on Feb. 1, 2024, Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres rolled out the red carpet for their guests at this brand new adults-only luxury all-inclusive resort. If you are thinking of staying here, remember that this resort will be opening its amenities in stages–only 341 out of 507 rooms available, Oceana restaurant not supposed to be available until the end of Feb., resort amenities not available until April 1 (theater, tennis and pickleball courts, rest of rooms), while the spa and gym are not supposed to be open until June 1.

In case you are not aware, I traveled to the Riviera Maya Dec. 2023 on a solo trip and stayed at 3 resorts–Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen, Secrets Tulum Resort and Beach Club, and Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya (the old Secrets Capri).
