I just returned from another trip to Cancun and stayed at the beautiful Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf and Spa Resort during Feb. 2017. I stayed in an upgraded Preferred Club Jr. Suite Ocean View, room #7408. I had pre-requested a pool view in addition to the ocean view since I did not want to look out at the side of the resort and this wish was definitely met. This was the view from my balcony with its own comfortable day bed and Jacuzzi tub.
For those of you interested in the new Dreams resort in Playa Mujeres, here is my first video of the property which covers the lobby, most of the pools, and the beach. The new Dreams resort, Dreams Playa Mujeres, has just announced that they will be adding an interactive dolphin program to the resort in the summer of 2017. For those of you who have objections to this type of program, it is important to know this prior to booking. Just a heads up.
Since I will be going to this resort in Feb. I have been following them on social media and learned that the resort will now be allowing everyone to use the beachfront infinity pool (which had been adults-only); they are also thinking of allowing everyone to use the lazy river (which I believe would have been a policing nightmare) so hold off on that upgrade if that’s the only reason you are feeling the need to upgrade–it may not be necessary.
For Hyatt Ziva Cancun guests too tired to go out to the clubs but want a chance to listen to some house/EDM music and dance, there is a new opportunity to do so on Tuesday nights at the Punta Vista bar by the adults-only rooftop pool. It is simply called “Club Night” and it is open to all adult guests, not just guests staying in the adults-only Turquoize Tower (during the day, this rooftop pool area is only open to those staying in the Turquoize Tower). It is open from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. and consists of a DJ and hired dancers along with a small lit stage for dancing. Sounds like fun!
Those of you who have been patiently waiting for the After Dark sports bar and nightclub to open have to wait no longer. While it’s opening was initially delayed over two months after the resort’s official opening, After Dark is now open for late-night partiers (it’s open until 3 a.m.).
While this resort is on my vacation short list, there is not a lot of dedicated material on it yet despite its opening in late 2015. Although the resort was partially accessible to guests at that time, amenities have been completed in stages meaning that guests have been unable to fully access or enjoy everything this new resort has to offer. Here are a few short videos which, hopefully, will give you a better idea of what the resort presently looks like. (If you’d like to read a review of property amenities, here’s the link).
While half of this video is computer generated, it gives a good impression of what some of the public spaces are like. The actual room footage I love, the shower situation reminds me of Secrets the Vine without the frosted glass. Definitely a resort for couples. Take a look!
