Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres is a mid-level resort located about a 40-45 min. drive north of the Cancun airport. It has both family-friendly and adults-only sections and gives vacationers an affordable option to have a great beach stay.
The beautiful adults-only Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya resort has just announced that they are now offering a true ocean view suite category that also includes a private plunge pool. It’s right on the beach and there are only 36 of them including ground floor and top floor suites.
I found this recent review on YouTube about Viceroy Riviera Maya, a boutique luxury all-inclusive optional property. It only has 41 private villas and a couple of restaurants plus a spa, but it packs a punch in exclusive private villas with your own terrace plunge pool and outdoor shower.
I posted yesterday that I was seriously thinking about a final Cancun trip for 2025 in order to recalibrate myself from a year filled with major life decisions. I’ve been seriously contemplating doing a solo Cancun trip for 2025–I stayed at Riu Caribe and SLS Playa Mujeres in January, then did another trip in July staying at the Iberostar megaresort complex in the Riviera Maya, now I’m thinking of a late fall trip to some cheaper resorts since my travel budget for the year is almost in the red. It’s been a difficult year emotionally for me and it looks like it won’t get any better and Mexico calls when I need a recalibration and reset. (Actually, Mexico always calls to me no matter my mindset, lol).
Beach Palace, a family-friendly Palace resort, closed Aug. 15, 2025, to do an entire renovation to the property to the tune of $60 million USD. The reno is supposed to be comprehensive and focused on family amenities with this project; the reported reopening date is anywhere from March to May 2026.

I came across a recent comprehensive resort review of the family-friendly Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach done by Passport To Travel. This resort is located in the Punta Cancun area next to the very popular Hyall Ziva Cancun. The last time I visited this property was before they became an all-inclusive resort, so I know what the property looks like but have never stayed there.
Riu is opening a brand new family-friendly resort in Cancun’s Hotel Zone…it’s supposed to open Dec. 2025 so we will see if that actually happens. It’s called Riu Ventura and it’s family-friendly with an adults-only rooftop pool area.
