Looks like the long awaited Palmaïa resort is now open and receiving guests.  There are several reviews up on TripAdvisor as well as other travel wholesaler sites.  The resort originally started out as Palmaïa by Sandos, then it became Palmaïa Riviera Maya, now it is called Palmaïa–The House of AïA.  It is located next to Sandos Playacar in the gated community of Playacar which has one of the best beaches in the Riviera Maya.
