There has been plenty of action recently regarding news and information about all-inclusive resorts in the Cancun and Riviera Maya areas.  Here’s a short list of what I know:

• Riu Palace Peninsula reopened July 25, 2026 after an extensive renovation.  They now offer upgraded Elite Club amenities and rooms, all the silver and purple are gone (yay!), but I don’t see the awesome Suite Jacuzzi rooms anymore (boooo), that was one of my favorite room stays ever with the huge balcony area and Jacuzzi with ocean views.
• Dreams Vista is becoming adults-only August 14, 2026 and will be rebranded as Hyatt Vivid Cancun.  I have read those who booked 2026 weddings there after this cutoff date are not very happy right now…
• Hard Rock Cancun is closing for renovations starting Aug. 3, 2026, and reopening Dec. 15, 2026.
• Riu Palace Mexico is supposed to reopen as an adults-only property starting Sept. 19, 2026 (keep a watchful eye on this date though).
