Is Platinum Yucatan Princess A Perfect Mix Of Fun And Relaxation?

I’m going to be spending my birthday at Platinum Yucatan Princess–from what I’ve seen on YouTube it looks like it will be a great opportunity to experience some resort fun and time to reset!

This resort is adults-only and is located approximately half-way between the Cancun airport and Playa del Carmen–about a 20-min. drive south of the airport.  Here’s what the resort has to offer:

  • 108 swim-out Jr. Suites.  Swim-outs are divided into the Deluxe and upgraded Platinum sections with separate pools.  I did not book an upgrade here since I wanted to stay in a swim-out at the party pool (Platinum section is the upgrade).
  • 6 restaurants and 8 bars including the 2 swim-up bars, one in each pool.  Skylights restaurant is an extra cost, however.  Dinner reservations are not necessary unless dining at Skylights or Tao at the Teppanyaki show table.
  • Beach bar and beach snack bar serving lunch
  • Access to the adjoining Grand Princess resorts–stay at one play at three!
  • Access to the separate Sports Park–you can either walk or take one of the complimentary bicycles you can ride around the resort.  The Sports Park has kayaks, paddle boards, an archery range, air rifle shooting range, batting cage, golf practice field, or opportunities to just hang around this separate area and play billiards in the Sports Park club house.
  • 6 tennis courts
  • disco
  • gym
  • spa
  • coffee shop
  • theater with nighttime shows
  • Plaza Bar area which features live music at night along with shows such as the fire show (I believe that occurs on Sunday evenings)

Below are a couple of videos I thought highlighted the best of the resort–the first is an older video of the foam party in the party pool, while the second highlights the general features of the resort as a whole.  Enjoy your armchair opportunity to travel to Mexico!  I will get my real experience soon….
