Travel agents excluded, how many of you have heard of or read about the new all-inclusive resort Sensira Resort and Spa? This family-friendly resort which is already a member of The Leading Hotels of the World reportedly opened January 2021 and I’m just reading about it now…I must be slipping. Or too busy. Or both. Regardless, here are some facts about this beautiful new resort:
- located south of Zoetry Paraiso and north of Margaritaville Island Reserve in the Bahia Petempich area of the Riviera Maya
- 359 rooms. Amber suites are adults-only with butler service.
- 12 restaurants and bars (one buffet, five a la carte restaurants, 2 snack bars, 4 bars). One restaurant appears to be based on molecular gastronomy, and one of their bars has an English pub concept with a pool table.
- 3 pools
- resort ziplining
- kids water park
- baby club, kids club, and teen club. Baby club accepts ages 1-3.
- spa and gym
- tennis courts
- trampoline room
In case anyone attempts to book this resort on the website, when you get to the room choice the listing says “Breakfast included”. I contacted the hotel and they claim to be an all-inclusive resort including all meals and drinks. Maybe this is one of the reasons this resort still has trouble filling its rooms–a website error listing a meal plan which does not exist…If you book it on wholesaler sites such as Expedia it clearly lists this resort as all-inclusive.
Interested? Here’s an informative video of what the resort has to offer. What do you think? Would you stay here?
Hi just booked the Sensira for early next month December, video was cool, what time of year was that taken ?, saw it was posted in November , seaweed was yucky but hotel amenities more than compensates for it ! thanks Peter
Peter: The video was taken in June 2021. Please come back to this blog and let us know how your trip went and what you liked and didn’t like about this resort. Have a great time!
Today, December 2, just booked Sensira for our family of six. Settled for two Amber rooms with two Queen beds. Unfortunately, no Sapphire rooms available with bunk beds. Our choice was influenced positively by the video despite the few subsequent reviews that commented on the beach see weed and resulting fowl smell. We are also attracted by the compact, lower number of 359 rooms while still providing the traditional array of activities usually found in much larger five star resorts. Hoping that the see weed is not as much of an issue when we travel there during the third week in a February. Looking forward to the food and the variety of activities for our two grandchildren, ages 14 and 10. If the kids are happy, we the adults will more likely experience a memorable vacation.
If you are going in February, you shouldn’t have much of an issue with the sargassum. You are absolutely right, if the kids are happy on vacation chances are you will have one as well!! Have a great time and let the readers here know how your stay was….
