Chairman Two-Bedroom Suite at New Adults-Only Rebranded Resort–A Suite Review

While Royalton Suites Cancun originally opened in Feb. 2019, the parent company has already decided to switch it from a family-friendly to adults-only all-inclusive resort starting “sometime this fall” (I have not run across the exact opening date yet).  The new name will be Royalton Chic Suites Cancun–“Chic” is a particular sub-brand of Royalton’s depicting luxury adults-only resorts, not just adults-only sections like the Hideaway at Royalton Riviera Cancun in the Riviera Maya.

The re-branded Royalton Chic Suites Cancun is located in the Hotel Zone close to Plaza Forum (where all the clubs are located in Cancun). It is fairly small with only 180 guest suites, two beachfront pools (one for upgraded Diamond Club guests and the other for non-upgraded guests), a large Jacuzzi, rooftop pool area (party pool with DJ, small Jacuzzis, and small private rented sections), a buffet restaurant, four a la cartes, sports bar, coffee shop/gelato ice cream shop, Chef’s Table ($), five bars, outdoor theater, spa, and gym.

If you want lots of space with something a bit different added to the mix, book the upgraded Diamond Club Chairman’s Two-Bedroom Suite which can sleep seven.  (For larger parties, there are other Chairman’s Suites which can sleep 11 or 13).  This particular upgraded suite has two full bathrooms, dining table, living room, bar area with full bottles of liquor, a large balcony Jacuzzi, and the “something a bit different”–your own pool table. Upgraded Diamond Club guests also get butler service and the typical amenities with this type of upgrade–separate lounge, private check-in/out, upgraded room amenities, etc.   And this suite is affordable–I did a dummy booking for fall travel dates and the price for two in this suite is around $3800 for a week’s stay.  Not bad; I would definitely be down for booking this suite, but after the pandemic.  This resort feels a bit cramped (typical of Hotel Zone resorts), especially the pool areas, so I don’t want to worry about masks here.

Below are a couple of videos–the first is the Chairman’s Suite, while the second video gives a quick look at the main floor–indoors and out, plus the beach area.

What do you think?  Would you stay here?
