Another All-Inclusive Optional–The Fives Oceanfront

Here’s a newcomer to the Puerto Morelos hotel market–The Fives Oceanfront is an all-inclusive optional, family-friendly luxury boutique hotel located on the outskirts of Puerto Morelos in the Riviera Maya.  There are several “The Fives” resorts, so be careful if you decide to book since you may wind up staying at the wrong hotel/resort.  It became kind of confusing when Karisma removed their name brand from Azul Fives Resort a couple of years ago (that resort is now rebranded as a “The Fives” resort), but that’s a different blog post.

Here’s what you get at this boutique hotel:

  • oceanfront location
  • 105 suites (Jr. Suite along with one, two, and three bedroom suites)
  • one restaurant currently in operation (RoMarleys Beach Grill), and a “rooftop cafe” with a limited menu located on, where else, the rooftop.  While the rooftop cafe was only open on the weekends, it has recently become open every day.  A second restaurant is still being built.
  • Two bars, one by the rooftop cafe and the second by RoMarleys restaurant.  There is supposed to eventually be a lobby bar, but it’s not open yet.
  • Two pools, one beachfront and the other on the rooftop.
  • Beach cabanas available for an extra fee which includes bottle service ($175 USD for 4 people)
  • You are assigned an “Ambassador” when you check-in, they are like a concierge or butler service
  • If you’re looking for more of a “party atmosphere”, you may be able to find it here on Sundays when other vacationers/locals purchase a day pass to enjoy the hotel.
  • Music offered at the resort–right now it’s reggae and classic rock.
  • Pet friendly–you can bring your dog if it’s under 20 lbs.

I don’t refer to this as a resort because it doesn’t have all the amenities to fully entertain the typical vacationer looking for an all-inclusive resort experience.  It would be perfect for solo travelers or those who would be venturing out for part of the day on excursions or to see the town of Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, or the cenotes along Ruta de los Cenotes.

When making your reservation, don’t forget to choose the “All Inclusive” option; you can find it on the hotel’s website at the time of booking.

Take a couple of minutes to see the video below; what do you think?  Would you stay here?
