Below is a video done by Passport Pages on their picks for the top 10 all-inclusive resorts in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. Even though they don’t mention it, I believe their choices may include only the properties they’ve stayed at (I do the same thing when I list my own favorites) so take that into consideration with all the great properties out there.
Just a few items to add which they left out:
- While Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun is adults-only, some amenities will eventually have to be shared with its next door “sister” resort, Iberostar Selection Cancun which is a family-friendly property. There are very few restaurants on the Coral side so guests eventually will need to dine next door to avoid the same menus.
- Le Blanc is known for its spa and service but not for its rooms. If you must have a balcony for beach vacations then skip this property, very few rooms have balconies.
- Something to consider about staying at Haven Riviera Cancun is that the main pool (not the circular pool) is heated as are the Serenity Club Oceanfront Swim-Up suite pools. Great to know if you are planning on vacationing during the winter months.
- Speaking of heated pools, Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun heats their enormous main pool during winter months–guaranteed.
- Hyatt Zilara Cancun recently reopened after a year’s closure due to renovations. The resort practically underwent a “gut job” where everything got completely redone or refreshed plus some dining venues were eliminated and others added.
- Moon Palace Cancun is part of the list…all I can say is why? Certainly not the beach, maybe it’s the larger guest rooms that also happen to have a giant Jacuzzi right in the room and not the bathroom.
- Sun Palace wound up #3 on the list. For those looking for a much smaller resort in the Hotel Zone this may be an option.
- Live Aqua Cancun wound up #1! While I love this resort, Atelier Playa Mujeres certainly beats them out in many categories with the exception of best pool areas. (I vow to return one day).
