Try Club Med This Summer!

Still looking to book an all-inclusive resort in Cancun for the summer?  Club Med Cancun should be right up there on your list of resorts to check out for a fun, family-oriented summer vacation!

I can attest to the fun factor of a Club Med family vacation–I took my kids to Club Med Ixtapa when they were very young and all of us had a blast.  A Club Med vacation is ideally meant for activity loving individuals who like to enjoy lots of on-site amenities without booking excursions or having to go off-site to have fun.  Cancun’s Club Med certainly delivers with the following activities:

  • Trapeze lessons
  • Sailing lessons
  • Kayaks and paddle boarding available
  • Snorkeling without having to take an excursion
  • Archery lessons
  • Bocce ball
  • Tennis and PIckleball courts
  • FYI:  Waterskiing lessons got cancelled in fall 2021 due to environmental concerns.  Windsurfing also is no longer offered at this resort.

And for other resort amenities, check these out:

  • 3 pools–main pool, adults-only Exclusive Collection Space (used to be known as the Jade pool), and the new Aguamarina family-friendly pool at the western end of the resort
  • 3 beach areas–the snorkeling beach, the larger family-friendly beach, and the smaller “Taco Arte” beach (by Taco Arte restaurant).  The resort can offer different beach experiences since it sits on Punta Nizuc at the southernmost part of Cancun
  • 4 restaurants and 7 bars
  • spa (no hydrotherapy circuit though) and gym

And how about the resort’s Kid’s Clubs?  Here’s the scoop:

  • Baby Club (up to age 2) doesn’t really have dedicated space, but parents can ask to borrow a stroller, an “umbrella bed”, changing table, bottle warmer, and a baby bathtub while staying at Club Med.  The Hacienda buffet has a separate corner with baby food and a nearby microwave for the littlest ones
  • Petit Club Med (ages 2-3) offers supervision in a dedicated space.  This service is “on-demand” and costs extra, however
  • Mini Club Med (ages 4-10) offers supervision in both an indoor and outdoor dedicated space in addition to activities held around the resort
  • Club Med Passworld (ages 11-17) is divided into groups of similar ages–11 yr. olds do not hang out with 17 hr. olds.  This segment of guests have their own dedicated space as well as participate in activity lessons around the resort.
  • FYI:  Due to COVID, babysitting services at this resort have been suspended.

Parents can have lots of time together, even lunch and dinner, since the Kid’s Clubs often eat together as well if parents allow.

Remembering how much fun I had at Club Med Ixtapa I’m ready to book this resort just writing about what it has to offer!  Although I am well past the age of appreciating trapeze lessons, I could do with some sailing lessons as well as fine tune my archery skills!

Below is a very informative video of the resort highlighting much of what I’ve mentioned in this blog post.  What do you think?  Are you ready to book this resort yourself?
