It’s Friday and time for another room category review!  This time I’m highlighting the Beachfront Casita at the adults-only Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel, a resort typically not well-covered in social media.  The resort is a member of SLH (Small Luxury Hotels of the world).

With only 128 suites situated over 36 acres, the Blue Diamond is located just north of Playa del Carmen in the Riviera Maya.  It caters to more affluent vacationers from all over the globe and is perfect for couples or single adults who want to primarily “chill” while away from home.  All suites are on the large size so guests have plenty of space to move around or relax no matter what suite category they occupy.

The Beachfront Casita deserves mention for several reasons:  it is the only room category at the resort which has an ocean view, it has a large walk-in closet (very unusual for all-inclusive resorts in this area), and it also has its own private rooftop plunge pool with two full loungers and a sun umbrella (you don’t have to get up early to “claim” a chair).  Take a look at the video below and see if you agree that this room category deserves a mention.  Surprisingly (or maybe not considering the overall lack of social media coverage of this resort), I found only one video of this suite; it was taken back in 2013 so it’s a little grainy, but still gives a good idea of what the suite looks like.  Would you stay here?
