I generally don’t tend to follow Oasis Hotels and Resorts, so I missed their recent changes entirely until I began seeing new video snippets of The Sens Cancun which looked very much like Grand Oasis Palm. So that you have an idea of where this resort is located, Grand Oasis Palm and Oasis Palm are adjacent to one another and are both situated towards the western end of Cancun’s Hotel Zone by the pirate ship excursion and Cancun’s Scenic Tower. I’m still trying to put these changes together in a coherent fashion, so if there are any readers out there that know more about this resort change than I do, please chime in and let me know where I may be assuming something or have left out something important.
Here’s my present understanding of what’s going on with these two resorts…It looks like what used to be known as Grand Oasis Palm (the taller, less pyramid-shaped resort building) has now become The Sens Cancun, while what used to be called Oasis Palm is now known as Grand Oasis Palm. Here’s where it gets confusing–The Sens Cancun resort, while having adults-only spaces, also allows families, it’s just an upgraded resort where anyone at the Sens can enjoy all the neighboring amenities over at Grand Oasis Palm.
Guests of The Sens Cancun have the following perks:
- upgrade in the upgraded The Sens Cancun and book a Sian Ka’an suite. All kinds of amenities are included with this upgrade including private check-in/out, adults-only higher floors with awesome ocean views, in-room or balcony Jacuzzi, access to adults-only sections at the resort such as private beach and poolside sections, along with all kinds of fun things to do at The Pyramid Cancun (this resort is on the eastern-facing side of the Hotel Zone–there’s a phenomenal pool over there just in case you want to check it out). You can get the upgrade on the upgrade for FREE (the Sian Ka’an Luxury Runaway) and get a night pass to visit The Pyramid Cancun to see nighttime shows and events like the Cabaret Dinner Show, enjoy the nightclub, or even try your luck at the casino at The Pyramid Cancun (you are on your own for transportation, however)
- full access to resort amenities next door at the Grand Oasis Palm
- adults-only dinner pirate cruise, plus families are entitled to a regular dinner pirate cruise (I took one of these years ago, and if you have grade school age children they would absolutely love it)
- 4 adults-only restaurants and 3 adults-only bars
- adults-only nightclub
Wow, quite a change from the old Grand Oasis Palm. There aren’t really any full videos out yet that I can find on the resort changes, but here’s a 21 second video so at least you can familiarize yourself with what the overall outdoor layout is as well as what the beach area looks like. Keep following this blog to learn more as I learn more…
