Just read that Riu Palace Las Americas will be closed for renovations from July 19m 2027, through Nov. 27, 2027.  While there are currently no details about the exact nature of the renovations, it is assumed that the scope would be similar to the renovations recently done to Riu Palace Peninsula–all guest rooms redone, public spaces redone, some restaurant changes, pool areas updated, and the addition of an Elite upgraded category which means some private areas reserved for Elite guests.

I’ve stayed here twice, the second time around to check out their renovations, so I anticipate staying here again at the end of next year to see what renovations have occurred in 2027.  I also understand that the resort will be renamed “Las Americas 2.0″…

See you in Cancun!
